Just wanting an opinion on these lift pumps. Any first hand knowledge, or have known anyone that has used these pumps? Thanks Husker red

Only second hand knowledge from a thread another forum…I seas reading it because they appear to be the cats meow interns of fuel pumps. That being said, they are EXPENSIVE. Also, unless something has changed, the "install kit" is more of a generic version of a kit that may or may not have everything that you need to install the FP on your particular truck. Furhtermore, (again with a caveat, I have zero actual experience with them) there customer service seems to be a bit sub par.

For more detailed info, do a search on Cumminsforum for "fuel labs" and/or use google and check out what people say when using them on their Chevys and Fords (can I actual use those words here..lol)

The thing I don't like is the lack of filtration that comes with them. For the price of the pumps I would expect better filtration. The only filter on the pump is a f/w seperator and typically you at best get 20-25um rating from a f/w seperator vs an AD or Fass you get a secondary filter as good as 3um absolute and 2um at 95%. Not such a big deal for the newer trucks that have better filtration but the early 2nd gens the best filter I've come across is 10um. This would force someone like me to spend even more money on a filter head and additional plumbing to acquire the degree of protection I'm looking for.
Aside from that, I think the pump is a great design. The brushless wet motor in theory should be a superior design. Both of these things are what has plagued AirDog (cheap p.o.s. brushes and failed seals that contaminates the motor).

the fuel lab pump is brushless and will outlast airdog and raptor 10 times over because of this. carter division of federal signal has a brushless one out now. i found a German one we are trying that was put on a 2000 about the same time a fuelab was installed on a 2001. the German one was less than half the cost of the fuelab but i can not remember the name, next time i am at my shop i will look.

the filtering on the 01 is not as criticle as the cr's but if you want to add filters i can send how to with pix for the very best and only a $100 in parts and filter's

I have installed the velocity 100 on a shortbox 2nd gen. Their mounting bracket was designed to be mounted on the inside of the frame which is impossible on a short box. I ended doing some modding and mounted it on the outside of the frame. Other than that its a great pump. Holds pressure and will outlast any of the pumps out there. I just wish pureflow will get their act together. I have heard the 4g airdogs are working real well. The install kit from fuelab is just like what you would get in a fass/pureflow kit.
