my truck has always run a little warm on the gauge but i don't think the engine is as warm as the reading, on interstate unloaded with the ac on it usually runs here maybe a hair more

since i did the head gasket almost a year and a half ago due to the usual seep by the thermostat it hasn't used a drop of coolant, i am running a cummins thermostat, a new aluminum core radiator, new water pump, new fan clutch too, i hadn't herd the fan chirp in almost a year so a said what the hell, it'll make the ac better if nothing else and now i get the occasional chirp if i don't need to let the turbo cool off too long, did the radiator a month or so ago as it still had the 322k mile original and i didn't want to get stuck if it blew, same reason for changing the water pump shortly after buying the truck, i tried a motorad brand 180* thermostat after i did the radiator and it pushed the temp gauge to almost 3/4 on the interstate so i reinstalled the cummins t-stat, i am planning to test the temp gauge by boiling the temp sensor (which i replaced a little over a year ago to see if it made a difference) in water and seeing what the gauge reads but am pretty busy and don't know when ill have time, the condenser and charge cooler are clean too, i don't really see any hot spots anywhere with a temp gun and can seldom find anything above about 185, anybody else have one do this? not really worried just annoyed as it's done this the 19 odd thousand miles i've owned it
