On the '92 w350 I just bought the overloads have worn pretty bad into the overload stops. I was thinking of adding timbrens. I have had them on two other trucks. On the timbren site it has a DR250 for the W250 and a DR3502 for the W350. I am sure the DR 250 would work. Does anyone know the difference? The truck has a hydra-dec on it which adds some weight. on a w250 with just a box have 6. 5" from frame to bump stop and on this truck I have 6". What is the height of the Timbrens. I would think 6" or a little more is what I would like. Thanks

Springs is springs. Timbrens are urethane springs. I much prefer air bags that can be run at different pressure to match load.

From the Timbren website - Double Convolution Springs - Timbren Aeon Hollow Rubber Springs

Thank you for the information is is very useful. The DR250 are 43/4" tall plus the height of the mounting bracket. That should put me over 6" which should be ok. The DR3502 would probably put me over 7" which might be better? I don't want to make the truck ride any worse but I don't want to wear out the overloads. Hauling one or two 1500 lb bales on the deck have already taken there toll on the stock suspension. I have the 535-65 on my '03. On my '97 I am not quite sure I will have to measure the height and diameter of the spring. The springs on my '03 have the appropriate gap this '92 since it has the deck loading the suspension already will touch them all of the time so I am not sure if a heavier or lighter spring is better.

I second what KOG said. I have air bags on my 91. 5 and they work really well. You can put 6k in the back and level it out with 50 psi in the bags. You can drop the pressure and smooth out the ride with a light load or no load.

I've got Air bags on the 96 and have rolled throught the scales at 11K on 4 tires, it took 100 psi in them to flatten it out. I've been looking at the Timbrens for the 07. 5,. With the 5'er on it I'm about 3" from the bump stop and have been pounded pretty hard lately. I'm looking at assisting the overloads and lifting loaded ride height about 1 1/2" to 2".

This is going to be our ranch truck and is replacing a '73 lwb D350 w/ 360 2bbl & 4sp. So it will ride rougher already with 4x4 and shorter wheelbase. The deck is probably heavier on the '92 though. I might have to take whichever ones they have in stock. Thanks for the help.
