I did this early on and all I saw was an improvement in pre boost performance, it did nothing after boost was in. TST it you'll like it #ad

Ditto Drawsons post, big improvment bottom end around town type stuff, more smoke maybe and more oomph depends on how far U turn it. Try a 20 clicks for starters and if it smokes too much back it off to where you can live with it or turn it up more, your choice

I played with mine from one end of the adjustment to the other and after each adjustment a review was made from zero to 60 mph. I had a slow start up from zero thats what got me interested. That adjustment did help fine tune the slow take off from a dead stop. I wound up about in the middle with no smoke. I recommend you test drive after about 20 clicks. Stephen's won ton dually in Sanger CA.
 
Spun mine in increments of 20, up to sixty. No smoke, BIG DIFFERENCE in off the line performance. My truck always felt as though it was wheezing, just off idle, with lots of noise but no power. Spinning the wheel made the truck much more tractable in stop and go driving. No fuel mileage decrease, either. Next I'm going to slide my stock plate forward. Just haven't gotten around to it.

I spun mine towards the engine. HUGE difference off the line. It felt like the turbo "came on" faster too, but it was probibally just the lack of turbo lag. I think it hurt the MPG's, but I only left it like that for one tank. About the same time I switched brands of fuel, so it's hard to tell. Yes, it did smoke, that's why I adjusted it back a little.
Best 15 minute, no $$$ mod you can do IMHO.

98 Quad cab 4X4 2500 12 valve,5 speed,3. 54 rears, 8' bed. Boost and egt gauges but basicly stock except for a "properly adjusted" AFC. 55,000 Mi as of 8/21/00.

did that before the torque plate and injectors went in, and liked the truck a lot better- had a smoke increase, but not bad, and only pre-boost. Also, the cruise control had less trouble maintaining speed on long hills -- after got the new hardware, had to "unspin" it a bit... (made an undeserving lady's car disappear! #ad

I spun mine up 40 clicks last night. I notice some difference. Might jack it up another 20 tonight and see if that helps. So far, no smoke.

If you go to the dark side, you may as well get there with a smile. Jacking up the power on this truck takes me back to the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals that I entered my Mustang GT in, back in college. Only it is easier and less expensive to get the power out of this Cummins. I wont be able to hit 90 in second gear, but then again, my Mustang didnt get 23 MPG on the highway.
