Anyone ever use a AC-Delco Starter???

The starter took a dive the other day and I am currently looking for a replacement and the best deal I have found so far is a reman AC delco for $150. I was wondering if anyone else has ever tried this starter and if it held up. Any other places you guys know of for decent ppriced starters what about rebiuld kits do they make one for our starters? Thanks

I use one in my Corvette with no problem. if they make one for the Cummins, BUY IT! Anything should work better than MOPAR PARTS!. My 98 quad cab 4x4 was by far the biggest waste of money that Ive ever spent.
Im Still trying to get the guy I sold my 97 PowerStroke to sell it back to me. It is by6 far a superior truck in EVERY WAY! Chrysler customer support sucks, dealers suck, the product sucks! Monday morning mine will be towed again back to the dealer for its weekly repairs. I give up. Maybe I could just crush it and make a coffee table for my new den! #ad

I`d be hesitant using a GM product in our trucks.

I just got a rebuilt ( D/C Truck OE) Nippondenso starter at AutoZone for $233

My suggestion would be to look in the yellow pages under "Automobiles,Electric Service" or under "Trucks, Repair" and try to find an electrical repair shop that is heavy into rebuilding starters and alternators for truck fleets and dealers.
My alternator went sour a few months ago and I was quoted from $130 to $240 for a rebuilt unit. I checked with a shop in Memphis that does a lot of the fleet rebuilding around here and got mine rebuilt in 4 hours for less than $90. 00. This shop is an authorized Nippondenso dealer and repair shop. With the increased use of Nippondenso electrical equipment, it should not be too hard to find an authorized shop almost anywhere. This ND stuff is getting to be as popular as Delco has been for years on the medium and heavy type of trucks and equipment.
