A day early?

KatDiesel,

It seems that they have moved the train schedule up a day and it will arrive in Spokane Washington on the 13th now instead of the 14th. Could you please confirm this for me. A day earlier would be great.

Thanks,

NorthPlatte is the biggest railyard in the world, so thats why it will spend close to two days there.

Is that the Bailey Yard?

Yep thats pretty much the "heart" of UP, almost everything comes and goes through there. But one reason the UP wanted the SP so badly was its 8 gateways to Mexico and also the famous "Sunset Route".

Yours is still in Mexico. Departed Pantaco, DF Aug 7 18:55 TFM

Its gotta go through customs and get interchanged to us. I'll see if there is a train schedule for the car built yet when I get to work at night.

The information I can pull up from my home PC is somewhat limited.

Sorry

Thanks Kat, if you ever decide to vist LAS VEGAS I will be glad to show you around. Diesel Dynamics is better then these casinos anyway:D :D :D

Thanks, Kat. Looks like Friday at 5:00 PM is as good as it's gonna get!

It all depends on how quick it goes through customs. Could be Saturday to be honest, or even Sunday. I am not sure what the traffic levels are like down there at the moment.

Kat,

Hey, man. Go back to bed and get some sleep! :D Mine has already left San Antonio, TX and just has to travel about 180 miles to Houston, TX. As far as I know, there are no customs inspections between San Antonio and Houston! :p :)

(Seriously, I think you have mine confused with RCPilotlv's. )

Rusty

Sorry I did mix the two up, the info disappeared on your car number for a short time. So I "Defaulted" into thinking it was still in Mexico.

Well, it now seems that it's back to the 14th. I got my hopes up for nothing. Is this thing traveling by train or covered wagon? Seems like they could be a little more precise with the train schedules.

Oh well, at least it's only a week away.

Thanks KatDiesel for the update.

My blood pressure is down somewhat now

I've been following you 2002'ers threads with interest and envy. Now I finally have some news that makes my happier. Today DC said my truck was built on 8/7 and shipped on railcar #TTGX952136 :D

Today it's in Laredo and due in Rolla, Colorado on 8/16. If the Rolla is truly the "Rolla" I see on my map, it's somewhat northeast of Denver out in the middle of nowhere and doesn't show a train yard. Probably a 40 mile drive to Boulder. I would have thought they would have taken it to the Valmont stop in Boulder. But whatever, I just want here fast, as long as it's not some teenybopper lot jockey roddin' it from Rolla to Boulder!

In this area (and I would assume everywhere else) they load the vehicles on trucks. The truck will drop anywhere from 1 to a whole load at a dealership. We would have drivers making 7 different stops to deliver their load.

It comes down to liability, both for the public and damage to the vehicle.

I should have thought about it a little more. You've explained why, if all Boulder's trucks are dropped off there, they still only have 5-15 miles on them when they hit the lot and not the 40+ miles it would have been otherwise.

Thanks for the info.
