Ray,

This is great news! I've been checking the Dodge website daily for "Available Incentives", waiting for the 2002 incentives to show up. Still nothing up on their website. It will be nice to have your post as "ammo" in case the dealer gives me any trouble on this topic. I wonder if they are offering the 0. 9% as an alternative to the $1000. If you hear anything in that regard let us know. I'm anxious to hear what you think of your new baby .

wish I could have tracked mine...

I really wish that I could have ordered mine when I bought it, and then get to track, seems like fun. I've had mine for about 5 weeks now. it's a 2001. 5 but it still would have been cool to track it from the time it was just an order. :(

Hope you guys don't have any trouble with stupid lot boys like Evan Beck did now that your so close.

I know you all will love your trucks as much as I do, just remember to have fun, and BOMB away.

Thanks for the news on the $1000 rebate, that's great news.

I've been checking my dealers lot every day this week. My truck was shipped on August 1st, and is now in Salt Lake City, just waiting to be loaded on the transport truck for the 250 mile trip south to my local dealer. If anyone sees a bright silver dually on a transport truck headed south on I-15 tomorrow, ... that would be mine :) :) :)

One step forward -- two steps back

Well, it appears that my truck has a poor sense of direction. Instead of taking the direct route from Fort Worth through Amarillo to Denver, it has decided to wander northeasterly and is in Muskogee, OK :(. Looks like it can only be destined for Kansas City  before it hopefully heads back due west from there. No wonder they keep moving the ETA out .

So close, yet so far ...

ARGHHH!!! I'm driving home from work at 10:30 tonight, and being as I drive past the Dodge dealer in order to get to and from work, I notice a transport truck parked up next to the dealership unloading trucks. As I slow down and do the rubber neck routine, I notice a bright silver Dodge ram being backed off the truck and see it disappear around the corner of the building.

YES, YES, YES !! MY TRUCK IS HERE! So I swerve into the dealership, and come screeching to a stop. I leave the truck running with the lights on and drivers door open, and run around the corner of the building to see that bright silver beauty.

Crap! It's a 2500, and not my truck. There are no 3500s on the truck tonight. Now I'm back into my hurry up and wait mode.

Well maybe I take back that post I had earlier. That would suck big time to have that feeling. Sorry for you guys that are having to wait so long. Wish I could help.

Well mine is supposed to leave tucson Ariz today and arrive Phoenix tomorrow. Then I guess it will be shipped by truck to Las Vegas. May I say around the 24th of august?

TO BE CONTINUED... ... :) :)

curious ....

will the first person to get one make note of the type of locking device used on the hood ??? once you get past that make note if they potted the engine compartment ... .

seriously curious about the types and placement of void stickers and devices in this latest round ...

Yeah, since I have that Edge EZ sitting in the garage, I'm more than a little curious what I'll find as well!

Hope to pick mine up this afternoon, although I'm waiting for the dealer to call to say it's ready.

The Moment of Truth!

The dealer called and said it should be ready by 6:00 PM tonight. They held the 2001 pricing and gave me credit for the $1000 rebate, so I can't complain about that. The only thing that worries me is that on my 1996 equipped with trailer tow group, the heavy duty turn signal flasher and trailer light relay shipped loose in a plastic bag along with with the 7-to-4 adaptor and brake controller pigtail. The service writer is saying all that came in this truck was the brake controller pigtail - he's guessing that the flasher and relay are already installed. Guess I'll go by the 5th wheel on the way home, hook up the cable and see - more "decontenting" by DC for 2002??

Rusty

Where art thou, Rusty?

Yeah, I was kind of wondering too. Maybe with DC's "decontenting" (as Rusty put it) quest to reduce costs, they left out something really important and Rusty can't even get it home now (a touch of sarcasm directed toward DC there, sorry). Naw, he's probably just havin' a beer with his salesman.

Train routes defying all (my) logic

Man I thought my truck going through Missouri to get from Texas to Colorado was silly. Well now I find out it's on its way to Nebraska  !! Then it looks like its got to come down through Wyoming into Colorado. I'm sure there's some good reason, but this circuitous routing sure has me puzzled. This truck is going on a continental U. S. tour and will end up being more well-traveled than I am when it gets here.

KatDiesel, I've not been bugging you for train info, but could you enlighten me on how this stuff works? Is it just going around the toilet bowl before it finally spirals down into Colorado :D? I'll never get the smell out of the vents!

Hey, guys, the reason I didn't answer last night is that I was crawling all over the engine compartment trying to find out where the EZ is gonna plug in and if there were any "void" stickers on the plugs. It took me an hour to find the data link plug - they hid it just forward of the fuel filter in the 2002's.

Anyone that ordered the SLT+, leather, etc. better check their 2002's carefully. My dealer supposedly re-ordered the 2001 truck I had on order but was cancelled by DC. My 2001 order had the "H" package, SLT+, leather seats and included seat heaters and a power passenger seat. The 2002 truck does not have either the seat heaters or the power passenger seat, so I'm gonna have to do some negotiating to see what the dealer's going to do about it since (to my thinking) I paid for them.

Other than that, the truck is great. With the 4. 10's, seems like all I do around town is shift that mother, even taking off in 2nd! My wife drove it last night and wants to take it on a little trip next week "... just to get some break-in mileage on it before we take the 5th wheel out on Labor Day, you know. " I think I may be in trouble here!

Rusty

Thanks for the warning! The 'H' package (SLT+) is what I ordered too, and am expecting the seat heaters. It gets below zero in the winter here and leather just makes it feel colder. I may not have ordered leather if I had known the heaters weren't coming.

Keep us posted on other discoveries.

Rusty, Thanks for the update.

I ordered the 3. 54 gears because I only tow maybe 10% of the time. Plus this will be a daily driver for me. Dont get me wrong i like to shift but I thought 4. 10gears maybe a little overkill for city driving. However with your 5er I think you made the right choice. How does the EZ feel vs. stock? Im also thinking about one for mine as well. Are the power ratings the same as 2001(245HP,505Torque). Most importantly enjoy it i know you waited a long time for it. CONGRATULATIONS :) :) :)

Gee, I dunno - I haven't hooked it up yet because I wanna find out what "stock" feels like to get a baseline before I install the EZ. :D I'm even thinking about towing our 5th wheel "stock" over Labor Day just so I'll have a standard of comparison when I add the EZ for our trip to the LSTDR rally in late September. (Oops, silly me! I was just kidding, DC. I would NEVER add any nasty, warranty-voiding BOMBs to my nice, new truck, even though you neglected to put any of those pretty yellow VOID stickers on the data bus or MAP plugs. )

The ratings are 245 BHP @ 2700 RPM, 505 lb-ft @ 1600 RPM - unchanged from 2001, it appears.

OK, here's the story of the missing seat heaters, passenger power seat and woodgrain dash (frankly, I'm glad the latter is missing). Despite the fact that my truck was ordered with the "H" package, DC in their infinite wisdom substituted a "G" package when they built it and (according to the dealer) didn't inform anyone. The end result is that I get a check back from the dealer for $488 and we call it square. Guess I can live with that...

Rusty

Rusty,

Glad to see a wrong made (sorta) right. Were you given any explanation as to how DC can substitute something like that? You should get what you order. If the factory doesn't have components, don't they wait until they do? I guess we should all just bend over and take it when they start arbitrarily substituting V10's for ISB's .
