I looked into this a while back. If you want to do RVs or trailers, it seems that most come out of Indiana. For me in Colorado, not good. It also seemed that the only way to make good money is if you don't mind being on the road allot.
I did some local hot shot stuff. The pay was ok at best. The company I worked with did all rush deliveries. That means this trip is across town with a letter. The next is 200 miles with 400lbs. It served my purpose of a job I could walk away from when school started back up.
Also, you can expect to put 200+ miles a day on your truck.
Make sure you do your homework. Before you sign a contract, try to talk with some of the other drivers and get their opinions.
