Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Good Pusher Pump

Look at it this way; Dodge didn't put a filter before the factory pusher pump. Of course that could be a factor as to why there are so many failiures...

But typically you'll want to put a filter before the pump. That way any junk from the tank will get stuck in the filter instead of adding wear to your $150 pump.

Injectors? Very subjective. You probably won't feel one step up. And if you do jump up to something worth the upgrade, like say Mach 4's (again, subjective, just my opinion), you'll need the supporting hardware to go with (bigger turbo or twins, studs, possibly o-rings or fire rings, possibly additional transmission mods).

So, like the saying goes; speed costs money - how fast do you want to go?

This is a little off the subject, but ever since I put the injectors on my fuel mileage has been terrible. I went from about 17-18 to 14mpg now. Doesn't really matter if it is freeway or in town... always 14. What's up with that?? Seems pretty low.

Clmsnow,

I don't think there is anything wrong with your truck. It is simply responding to your over stimulated right foot. Your new mods coupled with a DTT transmission is a recipe for for lower than expected mileage. Give your right foot another month or so to adjust to all the changes and your mileage may improve. I am currently still waiting for mine to improve. :-laf

It was like this with the EZ box DDII's and stock turbo. I actually drive it relatively tame... most of the time. From the day those injectors went in, the mileage went down the tube! Seems like there are guys on here with ALOT more hp and get much better mileage then me.

Ahhhhh. I'll got on that... if anyone has any pictures it would still help me locate this thing.

As for the turbo... I still think this thing has a ton of lag. My EGT's haven't even hit 1300* yet... thinking about trying a 12cm for now. Keep the 14cm for bigger injectors. Any thoughts?

You might try porting the turbine housing. If you have a die grinder or Dremel tool it doesn't cost any thing but some time & effort. Spooling is aided as well as a little better cooling. There is a "sticky" thread on the subject on the North West Bombers forum.

I wasn't planning on adding anymoe fuel at the time. It seems like a decent package. Like someone was saying, I would have to go quite a bit bigger to notice the power. If I did that I would probably need a biiger turbo(HTB2) and then I start worrying about my tanny holding hp in the upper 400's-500. May need bilet shafts and all of that. Soooo... ... I was thinking the 12cm may be the very best for what I hav3e right now. HTT wpould do a striaght across exchage for the housings. I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on it first. RD?? PC12?? LsFarm????

Try driving around with the box on different settings- each morning on the way to work try a different one- this type of pattern driving, that you do everyday, and see if there is a magic combo that you can live with before you decide to change the housings... ...

If there is a couple of settings that you could possibly deal with on a day to day basis, then maybe try the gasket matching to the ex. housing. The idea is to fully evaluate the present combo you have now- I suspect the injector subject keeps crossing your mind..... But fully evaluate that set-up that you have now, first and then make changes... ... .

Very solid advice from RD! Dialing in a comp box to your comfort level on your truck's setup is essential to getting the full enjoyment effect. I have three diffferent modes for cruise, fun, and of course kill.

Getting acclimated with your setup before making more changes will save you money in the long run. There is also a learning curve for driving when significant changes are made, give it a chance.

RD. What do you mean by gasket matching? (. . remember... young grasshopper;)) I like the idea of trying a few different settings throughout the week. Couple of questions... . is 5x5 always the best for kill?? Also, are there any suggestions for different modes like R-N-R is talking about. Right now I use 2x1 for around town and 5x5 for full thrill factor. Any suggestions would be great. I'll start playing tonight.

Try weird settings like 1 x 3- 1 x 5- or even 3 x 2 ect. ect you want to seek out a livable setting so try various settings to see how it is on a day to day basis- you don't need to drive around on kill all the time... ... ... .

I'll see about loading up some pics for you to see about the gasket matching.....
