What is the IAt sensor. Not exactly sure where that is... any pictures? What do I clean it with?

Your (IAT) Intake Air Temperature Sensor is exactly located on the rear of the cylinder head, drivers side. Look at the #6 injection line connection on the cylinder head, just below that you'll see a freeze plug and to the left of that plug is your intake air temp sensor. To go further, to left of the i a t sensor, is a plug fitting, and the next sensor to the left of the fitting is your Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, this is the sensor that reads boost pressures... ... ... ...

I really like the 3x2 for general driving around. It smokes a little, but I just take it easy. Occasionally I put it on 2x1 for in-town due to smoke. I haven't played with too much above the 3x2. Of course 5x5 hits hard when the turbo lights, and boy doesn it lay a cloud of smoke. Still think the turbo has too much lag. Noticed it quite a bit at elevation this weekend(7000ft. ) However, temps on 3x2 never got above 1125*. I ran it on 5x5 a couple of times but never saw temps hit 1300*. Still thinking about the 12cm housing... seeing as my temps look real safe I think the smaller housing would help bring that turbo in sooner. She really doesn't get up and go until 1900-2000rpm's.

How much bigger injectors could I go with and still be safe with my surrent set-up ... and notice a power increase??? I haven't even hit 1300* with my new set-up. I am probably going to try the 12cm housing just to feel the difference... but some have said that bigger injectors would help light things off quicker too. Any thoughts??

RD. I think the DD 4 Jammers are 150hp... . would that be too much for my set-up?? I was thinking about Mach 2's or 3's... I think they are 105 and 130hp. Do you like these better then DD's??

Clmsnow,

I have Don M's M4's and I can hardly get any smoke with the box off. Much cleaner than the already clean M3's.

And the 4's and a Comp, no problem!

Dave

I'm saying 4's so you will see something compared to your current 2's- Don M's are good too- But think along them lines (4's). Then you'll be playing with your Comp box all over again to find a livable setting..... But if your gonna get that 12 housing then 4's might be too much and you'll build hi EGT's qwickly- which is why I was suggesting to keep whatcha got... ... ... . Did you order the Banjos yet? Think: volume... .....

I wonder how those new Mach 4's compare to my year old Mach 1. 5's, but then, that's hijacking the thread.

Since I think it may pertain to some of the original posters thread, here's my take. I noticed about a doubling of smoke going from M2s to M3s. The M4s are about the same as the old M2s I had.

I changed turbos when I went to the M3s, so that may account for more of the smoke over my HY- M2 combo. I now have the M4s on the same PDR35-12 and it works great! EGTs are only an issue when I stand on it full throttle and keep it there until 90+. I can drive in 5x5 and leave very little smoke from a full stop.

The turbo lights much easier now and spool is almost instant. Unless I floorboard from a stop, then it's a smokeshow when the box is on. Box off, very, very, very clean. Better than my original DD2/ boost fooler HY35 setup.

If you have any other questions about my setup, PM me.

Dave

RD. The banjos and lines are the very next thing to go on this truck. After I do that, if I can live with the 14cm for now I'll upgrade to the bigger injectors. Debating between M's and DD's.

RD. From the looks of things Mach4's may put me a little out of my safe range for what I have(turbo)..... IF... . I were to get some Mach3's that may still be safe... I think. Like I said, I have not seen 1300* yet. How much higher EGT is a 50hp bigger injector going to raise things??? Also... if I do go that route can I sell my DDII's for much and my stock turbo?? It would help pay for the new injectors... or maybe a CaTCHER is better.

Hey Clmsnow- I answered your question on another thread where you asked almost the same thing above go to:

MAD ECM and Comp box- post # 40... ... no need to answer twice:p

But before you go there re-read what R-N-R posted above again- carefully..... :)

Do I need to have another discussion with your right foot again?;) :-laf :-laf ... ...

Fair enough... . so would Mach 4's be safe with my turbo or would I have to upgrade to the HTB2?? If the Mach 4's would work ok I may just try that. And yes I know about the right foot syndrome;)... just don't want to have to change turbos again.

I think your turbo will flow more air than mine and I have a PDR350-12. NO EGT ISSUES. Unless box is on kill and I have it buried. But I'm doin' over 90 before I have to lift.

Your current turbo will flow enough air to use the 4's... ... ... .
