I have one, wrote up a review of it once, can't seem to find it though.....
I like it and would do it again, though I would look harder at the lockup converter mods (heard late 93 trucks computer can control a 47rh with some wiring to get the signal to the transmission... . )
I had it installed on a trip through Oregon, and now have 30K on it without any problems what so ever. Heck the first 2000 miles with the new transmission was pulling my 10K travel trailer (camped in the shop lot while they installed the transmission... )
I got the run of the mill basic 518 they sell, it looked like all the companies do the same upgrades when it comes to the 518, unless your looking for billet shafts etc.
One note with the double deep pan they use it takes 12 qts to change the fluid and filter (easy to remember since the engine uses 12 too) and they require 15K intervals to keep the 3 year 100K warranty.
Late in '93 they would have been model year '94... or in other words, a second gen. Do you mean the tapering end of the first gens, or the beginning of the second?
