Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) ATS and EGTs....

How many of you guys saw an EGT drop at all when you went to the ATS manifold? I was doing some pretty heavy gettin' on the go-pedal on the way home from work and noticed i still have a max boost level of 38 psi, but the EGTs really didn't get as hot in fourth gear as they used to. Before I would see about 1300 or so when I was stomping the go-pedal shifting from 4th to 5th on the freeway and ever since my ATS install I have noticed only about 1150-1250 max during the same acceleration sequence.

Man, if the EGTs are dropping that much, then I think I am gonna run the #10 full forward all the time rather than 3/4 full forward. What do you guys think? Maybe time for 370s sooner than I think? Oo.

If you see that EGT drop, go for the 370's!!! I have been contimplating a ATS manifold whenever I get a new turbo. Your results impress me. I hope I don't have the same assembly issues you did. Keep us posted as to future results. Is the turbo any louder?

Well, the only reason I had assembly issues was because I had some POS pieces of redwood 2x4s that just split apart when I wacked them with the hammer. As soon as a friend of mine brough over some short 4x4 pieces that were a lot more solid than the redwood, I was able to get it aligned real quick. It would have taken me only about a good days work if I had those pieces sooner. But look forward to some aligning issues, you will experience them.

The turbo doesn't seem much louder but it does seem to have a louder scream when I let off for a shift. Not to noticable, but I like it otherwise. Scares the hell out of people with their windows down and I blow by them and shift. :-laf

I'll definately post my performance when the 370s come into the mix, but I need the wifes permission to even think about spending more money on the rig.
