I just had the most amazing conversation with Don Ramer of ATS.

He sent me a PM about what he had read of my posts wanting clear a few things up.

I can say the explanations for the discrepancies mentioned in Bill Kondolay's thread were valid. The measurements were made by a third party. Afer the stink they called the company that makes Bill's TC and cleared it up. . I haven't looked but they are supposed to have changed their site. They have also agrred to give me the pictures of their parts undoctored. They have also revealed other info to be released later.

The reason for the secrecy before was patent and trademark realted. I understand that. I also citicized him personally for not saying so before. He apologized.

He has the heart felt desire to end the secrecy now that the trademarks are in place.

They are doing a little damage control and now going on the offense so to say to show that they aren't hiding anything.

They do truely believe in their products and are gonna try to prove it. I commend him for his honesty and the sincerity he has shown ME.

In the next few hours I should have the first pictures of the ATS lockup assembly. Unaltered in full color.

The next few days on the TDR ARE going to VERY interesting to say the least.

He mentioned their new cam and promised to get me some good scoop on it also. He did, now I just have to interpret it. It's exciting to say the least.

ain't gonna be that interesting cuz Bill Kondolay can't post---but it will be neat to see---we all know the true test is out there on the pavement, drag racing and sled pulling----I know ATS has some test mules out there and I, like many others, will be very interested to hear the reports---chris

Why cant a desision be made to allow Bill K to post sense he was right all along.

Thanks,Thomas Jean

It's about time for a real picture for how this Tc is really going to work with all the guts in view.

I for one would like to see it!

For those interested I also have pics of this TC that was swaped out of a truck after 1500 miles. It may not be as shiny as it was in a truck so it isn't a show piece made for pictures. If you guys are interested just let me know.

I'll tell you a little from memeory. . I have heard so much I want to try to be accurate.

They are working on getting the pictures to the web and from what he said I'm excited and I don't even have an auto.

there are three different locking mechanisms... I can't say more about them because I did not write it all down... but they have a total of about 130 locking tabs that connect to the piston and TC shell and so forth. so if you can picture discs with 30+ tabs per disc off set and stacked on each other with plates between them.

It would give almost the look of a spiral from the side and a 130 or so splines sticking off the edge of a disc from head on.

Don't take these for gospel this is a few exerpts from several minutes of conversation. It is essentially correct though.

The info on the 24 valve cam and pumps they're workin on was very interesting. .

I'll post more specifics as I get them and understand them better.

If they figure they can beat Diesel Dynamics horsepower out of a 24 valve-more power to them-but I have my doubts... ... . same as I have my doubts about their converter..... time will tell the tale I guess. I know where I'm going for my horsepower fix-and I know where I point everyone to for auto transmission stuff-neither is in Denver... ... .

Oldschool rules! :p

I'm very interested in seeing the upcoming info from this post as I'm trying to decide which trans upgrade to go for. Bring it on !

Don was telling me about the 600hp #2 diesel engine...

The pump was custom. . V series not a VP44. running a CNC head, lots of ceramic coatings and a custom cam. I have the specs for the cam in hand and it looks like it would do it.

They are able to fuel clear to 3450rpm, keep the air cool, and flow lots of it. It is a recipe that looks like 600hp.

500hp is possible on off the shelf parts and they are doing their homework above and beyond.

oh and DD. . all of their products will be available over the counter or exchange!!!!!!!!!

Stephan,

I hope you'll let them roll out their own pictures. Posting pics of someone elses new product is not something I would consider kosher.

l8r,

MK

Chris,

I'll give them the chance to post first as a courtesy, when I get home i'll post them, they are on a holding file, just waiting to punch in the code. Remember I'm not a photographer so the photo's may be the best quality.

The clutches have 40 each for 80 splines total on the outside edge and inside edges. the third joins to the piston instead of the case.

very cool. They are using this type of setup in top fuel dragsters. . we aint gonna break it. they have a nitro/diesel burning dragster that uses this stuff... 1100Hp 2000ftlb (this is where he got the V series pump for the ETH;))

the dragster is getting a new redisgned TC. . same lines, just better.

I'm pretty stoked myselfOo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.
