What oil are you using in your NV5600

How much would you pay for an AirDog?

I am going to buy a tq converter, valve body, and a upgrade kit. What transmission do you recommend. I have a ats dealer an hr from the house which is why I am serious about going with ats. The closest dtt dealer is 5 hrs. I am going to add a edge ez and a 4 in exhaust only. I want a trans that will hold up for 150. 000 miles of daily driving. I pull a load of 4k or less about 20 times a year so I really don't pull anything like you guys do. Give me some opinions and recommendations... Thanks

Which transmission?

Oo. I love my DTT Best money I spent since buying my first Cummins powered Dodge 9 years ago. DTT customer is the best. (I spent 25 years as a service advisor for Toyota & Honda dealerships. I know about customer satisfaction!!).

I can only compare my DTT to the stock transmission and the difference is night and day. The research I did prior to my decision, found that each person was

completely satisfied with their ATS or DTT purchase. I think I read every transmission post on TDR I could find. I found more members had DTT trannys.

Your only decision may come down to servicing your new transmission. Do you want to make a 1 hour or a 6 hour drive when its time for new fluids and band adjustments. I drive 3 hours to my DTT installer for servicing, but its a drive I look forward to. :D

I haven't had the chance to drive a truck with either transmission, but am really liking my Goerend transmission. :D

I don't think you could go wrong with the other 2. From what I hear, they are great products, too. :D

If we are going to have a poll, how about adding Goerend, BD Power, Suncoast, and the other ones I can't think of right now. Seems only fair. Kind of looks like a pre-Operation Iraqi Freedom election ballot with only 2 choices. I'm not trying to offend, but somebody is buying from all of these guys or they would not be in business. Let those of us who have not bought from one of them see who is buying what. I'm sure many of these vendors spend time on this website, it might help them by showing them what the market is. Maybe they will even start giving TDR members discounts! To keep the bashing down maybe there is a way to add a line under each vendor "would you buy from this vendor again?" Then the vendors would have some idea as far as customer/product satisfaction goes.

I've ridden in 47re trucks with both before. A 600rwhp ATS and a 600rwhp DTT. I much much much prefer the DTT. In lock-up they were both scary fast. Before lock-up, the DTT was much better at getting the power to the ground.

That's my opinion.

Sick Ram, there is nothing that's impossible to break.

don't care about the other trannies, those are the 2 closest if you want to throw the other ones out there start a thread... . From what I have read the dtt and the ats seem to be the most commonly used and they are the closest to me.

Call, both and ask for a list of what they put into the rebuild. I think DTT will come out on top for sure, unless the other guys have been doing a lot of catch up lately. DC should make Bill a multi-millionaire, (please sign here). Then they could sell a truck from the factory with a better transmission that Chevy or Ford. NOT, I think he enjoys what he is doing now. Nice family and staff, great product. SNOKING

I've had my DTT for a year now & I'm still all smiles. I tow a 12,000 lb 5vr and this transmission is one sold shifter.

By the way with a drain plug on the torque converter it's a piece of cake doing a complete fluid drain, filter change & band adj.

I think they are both great transmissions. I think it comes down to how well you can communicate with the company and their customere service. For me I went with ATS after talking with both Bill and Clint.
