Cool, we have the same turbo then, so we can compare notes on performance. So far without my EDMs installed, I am making a little less boost, about 38lbs. max. I don't think I have even opened the wastegate with the fueling I have now, it just seems to max the turbine speed out and make only 38lbs. I believe the wastegate opens around 43lbs, so I am anxious to find out what it will do after the injectors and timing adjustment. Should really become a different monster. As for EGTs, they are very cold due to the amount of air flow I have now compared to the stock HX-35. I used to hit 1400+ in 4th gear gettin' on the freeway, but now it barely gets over 1200. It definately runs a lot smoother with this turbo so far. Thing whistles a lot louder than the 35, too. Couldn't hear the whistle until I put that stacks on and got rid of that under cab turn down exhaust.

sick yea... i can see those 1400+ temps too... and im hoping that the turbo 4" down pipe and maybe new intake will help get those wayy down and ready for a big set of injectors... . the right way... if my clutch was in a little better conditon id just launch in 6th... . if u can get over 90mph ull probably beat me... i dont think my truck will go over 90... . lets both take off in 1st... see who can shift more :D or how about the 1st gear 4 low races? :-laf
 
question about the camping

I'm a little confused, the event is Saturday and Sunday but I read where camping on the site is for Friday and Saturday nights???? Does that mean those camping must leave Sunday? If so what time? I was looking to leave like Monday morning.

George, I will check to see if they will allow camping on Sun. night, I'm not sure on that one because they aren't open on Mondays.

Bring 'em down to the event Rick! I'll take 'em for a ride around, maybe go get a quick bite to eat or something. I sure could use the fuel money now that friggin' diesel is $3/gal. #@$%!

Why can't you get over 90? I cruise on the freeway @ 80, but I get scared taking the SSRs above anything more than that. It'll be a good race but I think I will take you, no offense. :-laf

Are you getting a new intake manifold or are you refering to an AFE turbo intake? The turbo air flow is what's going to help with lowering the EGTs as well as your computer advancing timing should help some.

I think youll take me too... . no i have the replacement filter... im hoping to upgrade to an intake system... no intake manifold on the list... . my list is already plinty long enough please dont give me more ideas... my bank roll is alread several weeks behind :-laf ... hey u just wait though in like 5 years my truck will be ready... to do something :-laf or (more likely) it will be parked behind the shop with melted pistons waiting for a 12 valve conversion. :-laf . but for now i got some tricks that are good for some modist hp gains... .

1. run cool water over the intercooler to help cool air...

2. pack the bottom of my stock intake with ice to cool the air.

3. Surround the intake manifold with dryice to further cool incoming air.

4. put back my rixson 19. 5 with hard tires for less tire flex.

5. attach rocket booster to bed of truck. ( make sure to use extra duct tape & zip ties)



im planing on make a good 8 second 1/4 mile :-laf

Of course you can take a ride, I should be there Saturday morning, it's only a 30-45min drive for me. Trust me, you'll definately like the sound.

I'll get on the pm box cleaning.

Sounds good, but how much power do you expect to gain from all that air "cooling" your going to attempt. I bet you wouldn't notice a difference if you were running without all that stuff.

I need to get me a rocket booster too so I can launch better for drag racing. :-laf

George, I talked to LACR. They will not allow camping on Sunday night because the track is closed on Mondays - nobody there. I am going to look in to some places for rv'ers to stay on Friday if they show up after 8 and or Sunday night.



For those that don't make it to the track on Fri. night by 8 pm, the gates will open at 6 am Sat. morning. I am going to work on the Friday night thing and see if there is any way to allow campers in after 8. I will keep everyone posted.

Don't think I will be staying over there since I live in Castaic and I can just make the 45min drive home each day. I might stay Saturday night, but we'll have to see if the wife will let me.
