MichaelRitz;

you have the right Idea of parts that you need. When I exceed the power that my SB Con FE can hold I will be getting a DD from them. as to the FASS I have been told the 95GPH model will supply enough for you.

I would like to know some dyno numbers with the Xcelerator and the Aurora Twins, maybe this truck also has injectors, FASS, intercooler, and anything else to complete the package.

I have an 05 with the NV5600 and want to end up 550-700rwhp, I currently have Edge Hot Juice, Techni-Cooler, aFe Stage 2, straight exhaust

With a SB DD and a FASS (dont know whether to get 95gph or 150gph so it will accomdate the numbers I want to achieve) soon to add to the list.

Maybe you guys can point me in the right direction so I can put a good system together and still keep reliability, but be able to "smoke" the oppoisiton when I want to.

Thanks In Advance for all help and info.

Hello Michael, I am at the upper end of the hp that you want #2 only and with my FASS 150 I can pull my fuel pressure down some, so if you want to be at the 700hp mark than I would reccommend the FASS 150. Mike

The smoke is pretty bad, so I choose to just ease in to it every time and that gets me almost identical takeoff as flooring it does. Imagine applying on the accelerator about 1/2" quickly and then a slow ease until 1700 rpm's them see you later! The see you later part is awsome!!

I love my PDR cam. Best mod yet! Turbo comes in sooner, truck got smoother and quieter at idle, smoother and deeper at cruise. Cruising, mash the throttle, comes up alot faster. And, milage seems to have improved, but I can't really tell yet. I'll let you know after I tow my 13K lb 5th wheel back to Sacramento!

It appears I should do this:

1. TST twins program

2. Cam - PDR or Scheid???????????????

3. CP3 - ATS for $2700 or someone elses????????????

4. 4:11 Gears??

I am unsure still, but I am learning a lot from you guys!

Thanks for all the help and info but one question, will I lose any reability with 150gph over the 95 gph, especially when I have the chip or downloader turned down? Thanks again.

I have had mine for over a year now and it is still working like a champ, I change my fuel filter every 5k and my water seperator every 10k. I am not sure if they sell it with the modified pick up or not but if they do you should get it because the 150 can be a little noise with the restrictive stock one. Mike

Drag racing team owners (Ronnie Sox & Buddy Martin) gave me some advise in the early 70s. Create an engine that fuel gets in efficient and exhaust gets out efficient and don't choke it to death. Tune it... Add too much not working together and that CTD will be a nightmare... .

You shouldn't loose anything on the top end, in fact I would think you would gain with the extra air flow ou are getting. I haven't really been able to run mine through its paces just yet for one reason or another. I don't think you need 4. 10 gears at all, so I would save that money. I have a dually with what amounts to 35" tires and they are HEAVY and they don't sffect me pulling or anything. Sure, my numbers mught get better, but you can put ina cam for the cost of a gear swap. And, my milage went up with the bigger tires.

If it were me in your shoes -

Twins program

Camshaft (I have PDR, i don't know if there is a difference)

FASS system

Injectors

Wait on the CP3 until everyone gets their stuff out. (I am)

All that plus twin should equal one hell of a smile!

I have the injectors and the FASS, so TST Twins program and Cam sound like what I need!

I guess I will look into the PDR cam unless someone sells me on Scheid or some other one.

Maybe an F-1 diesel "helix" cam? Not that I have used one, but F-1 seems to make good stuff, FWIW

Scheid makes a real nice cam.

Works real well for me.

I am really surprised more people aren't buying cams for their 3rd gens.

It really changes the way the truck runs for the better.

Did you have to change your lifters?

I had a mechanic say it would probably cost me around $650 to install. Does that seem reasonable?

With 72K miles on my truck at the time of install we decided to replace the tappets just because the old ones had worn into the old cam, and we figured new cam, new tappets to wear into each other.
