I am looking to purchase 3 new quads (Predator 500, Predator 50 or 90 and TrailBlazer 250) and I am wondering how much room there is to negotiate the price on ATVs. One salesman will come approx. $200 off per unit. Does anyone have experience with this that can offer me some advice?

TIA,

Dan

I purchased both of mine used. Thats the best way to get a great deal. It's amazing how many people buy an ATV, use it for 10 hours, and then get tired of them.

Dan- at the very least the dealer should ante up helmets, goggles, & gloves for all 3 riders. If he works you for the extended protection, counterattack for the first service for all 3 bikes. If he pushes for msrp, remind him 3 quads will require a trailer hence more outlay. FYI- the dealer should refer you to a Safety Riding Course put on by the manufacturer(s). These courses pay you to attend, so there's something back. Good Luck---

Dan,

I'm also looking at the Predator 500 and Predator 50 or 90. Are you aware of the age limits our great state has put the 50 and 90?

Rich,

Yes, I had a salesperson ask me if the Predator 90 was going to be ridden by someone 12 or older. When I told him no he told me he couldn't sell me the 90 because of the age requirement. So, I said then I will tell you yes, I'll be ridding it. He hasn't called me back yet.

I called a dealer in Oregon who quoted me a price which was a little over $400 under MSRP for the 500 and 250, combined. He recommended the Predator 50 for my situation, stating the 90 was pretty fast and might be too much for a first bike. With regards to the 50 he said there was no wiggle room, due to there being only a $60 +/- margin. Who knows what the margin really is.

As far as getting them to throw in accessories, that's a good way to offset costs. Since I don't have any experience to speak of when it comes to purchasing ATVs, I don't have a real feel for how hard to push things and what to realistically ask for/expect.

Polaris's youth quads come with a Helmet and Wip Flag. It's included in the cost of the bike so make sure you get them. The 90 or the 50 also have throttle stops on them, so they will only go as fast as you let them.

Having the dealer include the first service is good if they are close to home. If not just try to get some $$$$ back or some free accessories for the quads.

Check out Polaris Industries.com they have all kinds of cool stuff for the Predator.
