Awhile back Bill Kondolay mentioned a transmission repair shop, G&S Transmission in Salt Lake City. I was having problems with my auto transmission and called Steve, the owner. He set a date and I arrived. Work started immediately. When this shop schedules someone, your on. None of the usual "drop it off and we'll take a week to look at it" business.
The repair was done promptly and correctly using DTT's Torque converter. I had a B&D converter and VB up the converter gave up the ghost in 9 months. I called B&D about a warranty and they told be to remove the TC and VB, send it to them and if they determined the fault lay with their parts they would send a new part back. I couldn't be without a truck for the two to three weeks this would take, plus I'm not a auto transmission expert so I would need to leave it a shop for that time.
Bill had the problem diagnosed over the phone, and the New TC arrived at G&S a couple of days before my appt. Great service.
Now the best part, Steve called me three days after I had picked my truck up and ask if everything was okay. Has your repair shop ever done that? I said I had notice a slip the morning after pick up and discovered the transmission fluid was about 2 quarts low. I had added fluid and it was fine.
Steve was flabbergasted! Two quarts low and slipping! Bring it in now. I returned the truck and steve R&R the transmission, cxompletley disassembled it and inspected all parts. By this time I had decided to add one of Bill's VB's and he installed it and made the necessary adjustments ..... ALL FOR FREE!
I have never met a repair shop that is as knowledgeable, honest, and as conscienous as G&S. I traveled 300 miles to gether to them and would travel 4 times that far to have them work on any of my trannies. I highly recommend this shop to anyone.
