I don't know if this is a new topic. Which is the absolute best, built proof auto trans. for for my 2000 with RV 275 injectors and maybe more? Mike

You probably won't get any other answers on this topic so don't bother to look any farther just call DTT. That's Diesel Transmission Technology - absolutely the best and no one will argue:D

Can't say much more than has already been said... but I've been driving my DTT equiped transmission for over 35k miles and loved every minute of it! Wish I had done it 46k miles earlier! Now I have to give it up for a new one... don't get me wrong, I'm excited about the new truck, but the drivability, performance and reliability are unmatched!

Well so far DTT's transmission as held Jetpilot's 760HP+ just fine, I don't think mine is in any danger;) :D

Guys, mseitz wanted to know the best transmission out there made.

All the aftermarket trans parts makers make excellent products and they all will hold extreme Hp when set up to do so.

Do your research, call the parts makers, then when a new question comes up from one of the companies then call the others back and ask the same question of them. Write down the questions so you can ask the same questions to each maker. The calls are free, spend time making a wise decision based on your research not a bunch of brand loyal product users. Find a confident transmission tech in your area and use what is best for you. We can all help you spend your money if that is what you are after or you can buy what is best for you based on your research.

mseitz,

I agree with what Ron said in his post. Do your research, and opt for what works best for you with all the criteria considered. I did my research just as Ron spelled out in his post, and DTT was the best option for me. My comments are my opinion only, and were only to provide you with my perspective and experience based on your question. I'm not associated with any company related to this board.

You'll make the right choice for you. -Ken

:D: I echo Ken. I researched until people seemed to tire of my ?s. After watching Bill K. go thru a trans. I decided to go DDT. I would do it again today. Nothing but the best products, service, & reputation. Jim

DON'T KNOW ABOUT THERE OTHER TRANS CO. BUT I WOULD GO DTT. THE TECH SUPPORT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO TELL BILL WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO WITH THE TRUCK AND HP YOUR TRUCK PUTS OUT. ADD AN EXTRA 200HP BECAUSE YOU WILL GET BORED WITH THE HP YOUR TRUCK WILL PUT OUT AND YOU WILL BE LOOKING FOR MORE. :D

THAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH OUR TRUCKS THE HP IS LIKE A DRUG YOU CAN NOT GET ENOUGH OF.

GET THE STEEL INPUT SHAFT AND HUB. AND HOPEFULLY BY THE TIME YOU GET YOU TRANS BILL WILL HAVE A OUT PUT SHAFT THAT WILL HOLD UP THE TORQUE. HE IS WORKING HARD ON IT.

Give ATS a serious look as you make your choice.

http://atsdiesel.com/

Clint Cannon is the automatic transmission expert for diesel trucks. His ability is second to none when it comes to knowing how to get the power of a diesel to the rear wheels. ATS knows how to make the complete system hold using upgraded products including their Tripeloc torque converter. I spoke to most of the transmission builders out there before I had ATS do my transmission. I found a fantastic transmission builder with Clint Cannon. In my opinion there is no other company that even comes close to the superior transmission that ATS makes. ATS also has the knowledge and experience to manufacture their own torque converters. I was surprised to find out that some of the transmission builders out there buy the torque converters they use from someone else and resell them. I personally like the company who makes their own stuff. As you can tell I am a highly satisfied ATS customer. I have one rock solid transmission.

DITTO THAT Edward!

I got my ATS about a year ago and it is AWESOME. Unlike other trans re-builders ATS manufactures their own parts in-house. They are the only Trans Builder to do this.

The TripleLok Torque Converter uses 3 clutches and WILL NOT slip. Period. It's been tested to hold up to 1740 Ft. Lbs. of Torque.

Also... The ATS is made in the USA by American Machinists!

Here is a link to the Thread I posted when i got back from Denver and getting my ATS Stage IV installed. I can't say enough about Clint Cannon and Don Ramer. These guys were so helpful to me. They let me borrow a car while my truck was up on the lift. They let me accompany my trans throughout the entire process and ask questions. ATS is family owned and operated. But do your homework and call everybody. THEN go with ATS!

I'll arque that, BD transmissions are every bit as good as DTT.

Over 20000 miles on mine and not one bit of trouble. Not familier with BD customer service though, haven't needed it. It's a lot less stessful owning a BD transmission, you don't have to spend all your time on this web site defending your choice of transmissions. :D :D :D

Mathmatically doesn't cut it. Real world testing is what matters. Am I the only one that wonders how they tested this? Just curious. :)

by Chipstein... "Math... doesn't cut it"

What do you mean???

That TripleLok has 3 times the surface area of the Stock Torque Converter Clutch, plus the clutch material it is a Raybestos Friction Material which WON'T burn, melt, crumble or peel. I tried to burn it with a torch, I couldn't even get it hot!!

It holds the Torque all right!! ATS has the best engineering of all the Trans Re-builders out there.

Let me be more specific... When I say ATS's engineering is the best, I mean their route of manufacturing the TripleLok TC, along with their Stator design, along with their Friction Material, not to mention their Valve Body design is the most complete and thorough and toughest of any of the other Trans builders out there. Get used to it!:D
