Being a full time RV'er towing a 32' fifth wheel and a 25' trailer behind that, I'm looking for a 40 gal. auxiliary fuel tank that will fit my 2016 RAM. It would be nice to go that extra mile without sweating do I have enough fuel to make it to the next fuel stop I can get in & out of with no problem. I've looked at the DZ91752SB Dee Zee Steel Truck Fuel Transfer Tank - Rectangle 40 Gallon Black But manufacturer says it won't fit my truck. Anybody got an extra tank in truck and if so what brand that fits a 2016 RAM? Thx

Aero 65 gal Black ugly tank in the bed that transfers via a Carter fuel pump. Going the EXTRA isn't what I was thinking about when I bought it , I pick the place and amount I want to pay for my fill ups. Use to get just enough to leave Commiefoenia and reach Las Vegas with much cheaper fuel prices then top off to reach Montana with fuel to spare.

I like the 65 gallon capacity when its full I have two Normal tank full in reserve so if you look at it like that I have 3 full tanks on board when I'm topped off.

I have an ATTA 50 gal tank toolbox combo that I have had on my 03 and now my 13. There are times I wish I had more capacity but for the most part that is plenty.

I have a 74 gal. transfer flow, the tank has more than paid for itself in fuel saving and convience.it was installed in 04 little over 400,000 mi ago.

I have had the RDS 45 gallon aux tank for a couple of years. Works well with gravity feed, but I also have a electric pump inline for faster filling. I like the light weight of aluminum, so I can easily remove it for when I need the room. Looks good also.

While we're here, I have a 40+ gal tank which was an active tank with tank selector valve in my 01 V-10 fitted under cross bed tool box. Wondering if I could use with CP-3 diesel? Do I need a different fuel pump? (why)? Would one of the pumps listed in Dean's catalog work with 1980's GM style tank-indicator-pump switch units?

I have a combo toolbox over 45 gallon fuel tank in bed of 2015 ,, 3500 Larimie Dually. I plumbed a fuel line from this aux. tank , down thru a " Solenoid Valve " and into the OEM fill neck. I wired the solenoid valve to the #1 aux. switch switch that is factory mounted in dash. Goin down the road I just flip the switch and fuel transfers via gravity flow.

Gues that implies you tapped the base of the tank? My Aux tank had an internal pump and ran out the top with the gauge wire and vent line. Don't know if a siphon would be reliably maintained under the circumstances you describe.

Yes it be gravity flow. The aux. tank had a 3/8" outlet at bottom of tank . Also had a 3/8" outlet at top of tank for vent. The solenoid valve just made it very convienant for opening and closing the gravity flow.

I just bought the RDS 72773 gravity flow tank. I haven't found any information of anyone raising the position of the OEM main fuel tank vent. The best I can tell people are leaving it where the filler pipe is. Any of you guys modify the vent? If not, have you had any leakage at the vent? I like the solenoid valve idea, where did you mount it, in place of the shutoff valve in the adaptor kit or underneath the bed? I haven't started installing it yet, I'm not totally impressed with the quality of the toolbox/fuel tank. They shipped it in flimsy cardboard box that was falling apart in shipment, some of the fuel tank/toolbox was exposed when the truck door was opened during delivery, not happy.

I put in a 50 gallon transfer flow tank in the bed of my 3500 dually. I pull a 8 ton 5th wheel. Smartest thing I did. It automatically transfers from auxiliary tank to main.

On my installation there is enough room topside of bed to install solenoid valve. I used a "street elbow" at bottom outlet of tank. Then a short nipple bout bout 2" long goes from steet elbow into solenoid valve. Then from the valve just use nipples and elbow to wherever you wanta drill thru the bed floor. My tank has a seperate vent at upper top corner ,, again here in used a street elbow and short nipple to make sure I was well above the top of tank. As another project ,,, I installed a 2400 watt Inverter inside the toolbox. That connects to the aux. battery of truck, and also to the #5 aux. switch on dash. The Inverter gives me 120 volts in the bed of truck. I can run any construction tools,, pancake air compressor ( I'm anal bout tire pressure ) ,,, it also provides 120 volts back to the refridge in trailer. I wired a second pigtail trailer cord from truck back thru pinbox into trailer circuits that feed the refridge. When we tow trailer we have 2 plugs to connect. This was just a neat project I wanted to do so we not use propane while towing.
