Anyone install auxillary fuel in 2003 yet. Any help on how to go about it. Bought a tank from Northerntool combo tool box fuel tank. Heard if you mess with the filler neck and pressure in tank changes may set off a code.

Do your L/P a favor

Use the aux tank as your main feed so the l/p will have a possitive head, then use your oem tank as storage and transfer, before you fill the aux tank or install it take it to your aluminum welder and weld in a bottom npt fitting to use as the feed line, put a ball valve under the bed for isolation . Your l/p will love you.

Read more about this by clicking on my sig.

we just got a new 03. Had a 96with a 105 aux tank from the local farm store. I used a SHUR-FLOW 12v pump to transfer to main tank. Think will use smaller tank in 03(50 GAL?). The 105 tank was "L" shape. Hope this helps.

Installed my 100 gallon then ran a ball valve and Holley red pump and plumbed into the vent line . Also used small inline filter(see thru) to help filter out the nastys. Supposedly it is next to impossible to use the stock gauge on an '03, anybody cross this hurdle yet??

03 Fuel guage wire

I had a Transfer flow 70 gal tank installed at the factory and they

somehow read the fuel guage to fill the stock tank From 1/2 to 3/4

from the other tank . I wish I could have watched them work, but

that was a no no! sorry, but I know it can be done but not how.

The tank you bought from Northern Tool is probably made by RDS down in Perry, Fla. If you will contact them, they have the plumbing/electric install kit that works great. I have had 2 of these systems and they work great. Just installed one on my '03.

www.rdsaluminum.com will get you there. The kit will cost about $250... ... ... ..... Good Luck.

GWD, does the gauge actually read off the aux. tank, or just the main? If i'm not mistaken the transfer flow automatically transfers from the aux to the main once the mian tank gets to half full. I am trying to get my aux tank to read on the stock gauge!!

It depends on whether or not your tank is set up for a gauge sending unit.

www.auxtank.com

My American tank is on its 3rd truck. They sell an install kit . Changeover solinoid valve, wire harnesses and everything else you need for install. Both tanks read on the OEM gauge. Just flip the switch and tanks are switched and are the fuel gauge sending units are switched at the same time.

It is like the system For* used with their dual tanks.

Good luck.

Doesn't any one read the ads in the TDR???

I put in the full transfer flow system in mine, 98 gallon tank. The controller for the TFS has a gauge in both tanks and creates a new level output signal to the dash indicating the actual combined level, plus the TFS display shows gallons in each and the total.

Their Express UFS only transfers based on the level in the main, and does not give the sum and individual gallonage.

I like being able to drive from Seattle to Fairbanks non-stop:D
