I'm trying to get some clarification, and so far nobody (at least in the chat room) has given me a straight answer.
Given the mods in my sig, will a B1 hurt or help me? My HX-40 is driving me up a wall because it doesn't make any boost to speak of until 2000 RPM. Basically, the truck is a slug to 2000, and then the power slams hard and it takes off. BUT, I still end up with higher EGT's than I think I should have (certainly better after DD tweaked the truck last year, but still high, especially now that I live at 4500').
Basically, given my altitude, I _have_ to keep the engine at or above 2200 RPM to keep my temps in check, in order to maintain speed up the rolling hills on the freeways. This is when I'm loaded, btw. And I only run the UPM in setting 1 or 2 (occaisonally 3), with the Response setting at 1 or 2.
When empty, the truck is a slug off the line... for as much power as I have, it sure doesn't do much. I couldn' even keep up with a Hyundai Tiburon no matter how hard I tried. The only time this thing is fast is on the freeway when the RPMs are already up around 2000.
So... will a B1 give boost at lower RPM, or do I need to start researching a twin turbo system?
Thanks.
Rob
