Competition cheater slicks or slicks

Is there anybody out there who runs a B1 with an auto. I don't mean a b1-2 or a kwik spool or any other variant, just a straight B1. If so, how does it spool? What do you run for fuel, how are the rest of the manners?

Thanks,

Craig

I run the originial B1 Bomber with a real tight DTT setup auto.

I swear spool up is better than my PDR40 was. :)

I used to run the standard B1 Bomber with a DTT 89 converter & it had a little lag for sled pullin but it did a good job if you held the brakes & built a litle boost before you nailed the throttle. It definetly spooled faster than a stock 40.

So Kurt, would you say that it will work for pulling, just takes a little time to build boost? How about for drag racing, same thing? How would you guys rate its general driveability on the street. Real bad smoke? Anyone ever towed anything with this setup?

Craig

I run a full B1 with a DTT 91%, 3. 54 gears, 285 BFGs, and Mach 4s and drive daily. . on 2x2 edge drag box. Spool up is quick truck is great in town. Elevation is 800ft

I thought you were going to go slushy on us there for a minute, after all that input shaft talk. :-laf

Oh no, won't let a little input shaft issue scre me off. I do need to take care of that at some point though. Working on a few things.

Craig

Hey CJ, I have a stanard B-1, auto trans all DTT91% t/q 410 rears,fueled by

a set of MASS DIESEL'S #4 edms,!! drag comp,That charger ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!I don;t race it,but it does hit the scale at 14'000+ lbs Spoll up isfaster than my 40 also!! IT'S ONE SWEET CHARGER!!! It gets the job gone and then some!!

I think its the best single charger available. Its tougher than nails & you can run nitrous through it without worrying about it exploding.

Kurt

just a straight B1.
Would this be the same charger when pulled from its original app- 3116 Cat? Or the term B1 is a vendors modified version, non-stock etc. ??

Edit: note to fellow searchers, this is trade secret info, so you will not get any answers  . Yeah I know I've tried to hijack this thread oh well. :p

Craig--it's a great turbo, but it can blow if you run too much NOS--just ask Chris Strickland--I ran one for 2 years--same time as Jetpilot(he had his a week or three before I got mine)--chris

Hey Chris, good to hear from you. Yeah, I like the turbo, I have one on my truck with the 6 speed. We are trying to decide how it would work with an auto for a buddy of mine. Curious about its dailly driver manners. Sounds like quite a few guys with autos like it on here - thats good. I need to talk to you Chris, drop me a pm when you have a little time.
