I have owned a 1st he and a 2nd Gen. I just ordered a new 2017 2500 4x4 Mega Cummins, 68RFE, Laramie, bucket seats, dual alternators, protection package, convenience package, cold weather package, sunroof, rear air suspension, Navigation, bed view camera, 5th wheel prep package, sprayed in bed liner, rear window defrost, sport appearance package, limited slip rear. Looks like a late July build. Now the waiting begins!

Which color did you choose???

Granite Crystal Metallic.....oh...and power adjustable pedals, keyless go, remote start, led bed lighting, power trailer mirrors.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have went with the silver over the granite. I'm in a dusty environment and have to park outside, so it only takes a few minutes after washing to make my truck look dirty again. Don't get me wrong, I love the granite crystal, but it's somewhat similar to keeping a black truck clean. No peeing in your cheerios here, just thought that might be some pertinent information for you to consider.

I appreciate your input. I seriously considered Bright Silver for that reason...I then saw the Granite Crystal in person. Pictures don't do that color justice. I understand it will be hotter and need to be washed more often. Thanks again.

Sorry I find the "cold weather package" partfunny since you live in California. :) I think the guys in Alaska would agree with me. It does sound like a nice truck. My friend has the similar colour on his 15 and when he looked at the line up of colours at the dealership that colour looked less dusty than some of the others.

Unless things have changed, and they might have, ordering the cold weather package is the only way to get the block heater and plug in cord? My wife and I do take winter trips into Montana so I figured we'd use it. We sure did on our other diesels.

All CTD's have the block heater; one can install an aftermarket or OEM cord easily.

The Cold Weather Pkg does have the cord already connected, along with a user installable winter front to reduce airflow across the radiator as needed.

Where we live in Ca, the temps drop below freezing at night for a month or so. I often have to leave during the early morning hours to respond for my fire dept. Having the truck plugged in makes a world of difference.

I love my granite crystal too. Just hate trying to keep it looking like granite crystal.

I do realize it gets "cold" in California and even snows. It just sounds funny from where I live. :)

I guess this would be considered light snow to Canada, eh? Funny how people think Ca is nothing but shoreline of white sand beaches..........
