I see in your sig it says Baja proven, so how much fun did you have with your truck.

Jake

I never knew that much fun was legal... ... ... ... ... ... wait a minute,it isn't in the US. I ran part of the course the day before and again the day after the race.

WFO,the only way to travel Baja:cool:

Had I known ,I would have stopped. All I noticed was a White Dodge. Did Have a few cold ones to share. November is not that far away. Call me a rookie, got to start somewhere.

When Kent went by at Mikes,he didn't stop and say Hi either. :-laf

I did notice he had a Jeep co driver.

Bob

That was TDR member Jason Hughes you saw go by at Mike's. His co-driver is the size of a Jeep, but I wouldn't call him one...

Lot's and lot's of silt. Good times...

Baja Silt.

On Sunday,Baldwin Motorsports trucks and trailers were hauling tail north on I-15 around the Escondido area. You could see the silt from 1/4 mile behind. They were being towed by three Duramax's and one P. S. 6. 0. Nice looking rigs. Mucho dirty. How was the lineup?

MorrisN, Congrats to your son. 8 days of prerunning borders on work though, not fun. Ha ha. We were down there for a week as well. It paid off though. We did take second in class. Tough course, but a lot of fun.

Bob4x4, Where was the Carli clan? We were excited about the possibility of another Dodge in the lineup.

The new KORE race truck ran very strong. Should of had a first place finish on it's first race, but a minor electrical issue lost us just enough time to get stuck in the horrendous logjam in the Mike's loop. That ended up costing us 4 hours of sitting and waiting. Once out, we breezed through the remainder of the course and ended up behind the class leaders by 2 hours. Could of, should of, would of... That's racing. Overall, it was a successful debut of a another great Dodge race truck. There was enough pressure put on the Hummers that they both broke. Times are changing in the stock full class.....

We look forward to seeing everyone down there for the 1000. It's on!

I was there for 8 days prerunning with my son, Kendall who won the overall with his two partners, Robby and Steve

We saw that bike flat out hauling by compared to those that came later. Congrats for a great run.

Jim Oneil rode into our camp and recooperated a bit after a rider change. He was riding with 4 broken ribs from a pre running incident. He won 2 classes first place. . 30 and 50 I beleive.

Looking at the stat. sheet... less than 50% finished??? Sounds "interesting". Any details?

Greg

Might be more room for "Jeep sized" co drivers if you had a extended cab... :)

I have never seen so many people have problems at a water crossing, that varied in depth during the day fro about 18"-36". I pulled out a lot of the 4 wheeled vehicles to keep the course open while others were carrying or pushing the bikes and quads. We saw the tree tops move when a biker was thrown off in the crossing. A quad rider was slammed into the water face first during an unexpected end with the quad landing on his back. Spectators pulled the quad off him,he was shaken and coughing water, but after a pull start he was riding off again shortly.

Jim Oneil came into our camp(with a 25 minute lead) for a rider change looking a bit rough. He had broken 4 ribs during pre-running earlier in the week. A little water,a piece of watermellon, and picture with a granddaughter and he was off on another bike to go on and win both class 30 & 50. Hundreds of people and thousands of stories.

Doubleclutch,

Interesting it was. The 500 is known for being an extremely tough race. More of an off-road race than a high speed desert race. It was a very technical course with lot's of silt, rocky terrain, nasty hill climbs, and tight off camber jeep trails. You don't drive your full size Dodge through some of the sections without suffering extensive desert pinstriping. The Mike's loop is just plain brutal. The last section from Urupan to Highway3 was a twisted silty mess through the mountains. It's amazing how tough our Dodge 4 wheel drives are. We raged up silty hill climbs that a lot of people were stuck looking at. 37 Toyos are incredible in that kind of terrain.

We opted for not carrying a 3rd passenger when building this truck. The standard cab works beautifully. Even big co-drivers are comfortable when strapped in to a Mastercraft 3G suspension race seat.
