This is the thread I was looking for!!

John - K5AWO - I see duelly in your sig. Is that the truck you have the beads in? What tires/size are they?

I have Pro-Comp 305's & they are wearing terribly. 4th set of tires. I'd like to wear this set a bit longer.

Anyway..... good point for us DRW truck owners with chrome rims is: everytime I want to rotate my tires I have to dismount them, rotate the tires (not the rims - they're unidirectional) remount them, then balance them!! I can't take that anymore.

I believe this is the key... right?

thanks all

Erik,

I'm running 235 R 85x16's. I don't rotate. The fronts almost never match the rears for tread depth and unless you put both fronts on the same side of the duals, the tread will slide a tiny bit against another tire of different height.

I used to have the ball bearing rings several years ago. They worked great until the rings developed grooves. I haven't put any beads in my tires yet. I think I will just opt for a few ounces of anti-freeze and let it go at that. That's been one of those gonna get "round-to-its". :)

Thank you much for the reply John... .

I actually found a dealer for the counteracts here on Long Island. I'll give them a shot tomorrow.

Great info in this post... . Thanks All

I'm sold. I'll post some results soon
