Help! SPS62 Oil Leak

Anyone out there using EDGE A2????

Anyone tell me if Fram makes Baldwin filters, or vice versa? Please say it ain't so :( . I've been seeing both manufacturers names close lately.

Baldwin is in no way the same or even close to Fram. Baldwin makes heavy duty filters for extreme use at their own factory (made in the USA). I beleive Baldwin makes Amsoil's filters, but i'm not positive. I use their fuel and oil filters and the quality is as good if not better than fleetguard. BT7339 oil, PF7777 fuel.

Donaldson makes Amsoil filters IIRC...

Baldwin Filters are made in Nebraska. They are the best filter made in my opinion.

Plus they have excelent customer service. I've used Baldwin for years.

I have no idea what additional brands they label but if it says Baldwin it is made by Baldwin!!

I think the Fleetguards filters are a bit better, but they are both great filters.

IIRC, Baldwin does supply some filters for Cat.

I think I'm gonna price some Baldwin filters and if they are cheaper than the Fleetguard equivalents, I will give them a try. I wouldn't use anything Fram [yuk]. Does anyone know of any online sites that sell Baldwin filters?

www.baldwinfilters.com Type in the zip code for a local distributor.

Cool, I have one here in TH. Funny thing though, they only had one oil filter for my truck in stock, but cheaper than what I've been paying, $5. 10. Didn't have any of my fuel filters in stock. Those prices were the same as what I can get Fleetguard for. On the big fuel filter FS1000/BF1259 (for the new fuel system) I got it for almost half of what Cummins charged me, $12. 46.

I remember a oil filter evaluation a Tech Guy did on a variety of filters and the fram was the worst out of the bunch with the least square" of filter and the filter media was end glued to basic cardboard! The K&N filter rated nearly as bad as the Fram while the Baldwin and Fleetguard both rated very close to each other at the top of the list for amount of filter sq. " and quality of construction. Clearly, cost would be the only differance between those 2 top quality units according to the hacksaw results!

I used to drive a Taurus SHO where the oil pump is rated at :12. 1 GPM @ 43 psi at 6400 RPM crank, which, BTW, is the entire 5 quart oil sump every 10 seconds. The maximum oil pressure that the pump can develop is 57 psi +/-5 psi. I dont think our CTD's run that but, the K&N filter that everyone used on these cars was rated higher GPM without going into full bypass. . ie; unfiltered oil. Thats what almost everyone used in their SHO's. Especially me, and that what I run on my CTD HO. BTW I dont have the SHO now Since it gave its life to save mine ... I was sitting in it with all about 2k worth of police red an blues going when a lady hit me at 80 mph as she was talking on her phone, so that was my wake up call to buy something BIGGER... ...

heres the one i use for my 2003 CTD H. O. ... http://www.knfilters.com/search/pro...px?Prod=HP-4003
