The Moogs would bind and the truck was all but un-driveable. I've done alot of resurch on here and other sites and it sems that the Moog's are ok for the Gas truck but not up to the task and the extra weight of the Diesel. I've done alot of front end work over my 30 years of turning a wrench and always used Moog parts but they've changed when they got absorbed by Federal Mogal. My truck is used as a daily driver mostly highway with some back roads and alot of towing.

Don't waste your money on sub par parts unless you enjoy doing the job over. Carli upper's and Dynatrax lowers is about the best longest lasting set up you can do. I have not tried the Dynatraxx upers but if they are anything like their lowers then they are outright awesome. My Moog uppers did not last the length of my short driveway they were binding. I replaced them with Carli's and they have been in now over 80,000 miles and are as tight as the day they went in, and turn just as smooth or smoother. Thye Moog lowers lasted only about 20,000 miles before they got very sloppy. So sloppy that the truck would follow the road ruts as if you were not holding the wheel only the wheel never moved. Also if you have not done it spend the money and update to the 08 and newer steering linkage kit it keeps your toe in settings where you set them reguardless how the truck bounces. Moog does now offer the 08 parts ... . their tierod ends seem to still be ok... ...

My Moog's blew for about the first 10,000 miles, tight and notchy.

Then I decided to try grease starvation for the next 10,000 miles.

I would only wave the grease gun end at the fittings on the ball joints but greased everything else under there in hopes that the ball joints would get jealous. :-laf

They did either get jealous or wore in a bit because now it handles perfectly, better than new.

I did add the steering box brace from Geno's but that was after the truck had started to handle correctly.

I'm thinking that they are rough and/or not correctly machined inside and lack of grease at the beginning will help them seat in.

And no, they are not all worn out already.

Only a theory but it worked for me. Oo.

Mike. :)

I installed ADJUSTABLE Moog Uppers and lowers about 60k ago. A shot of grease at each oil change, and I couldn't be happier. They have already lasted 50% longer than OEM.
