My truck often sets for a month or two or sometimes three during the winter so I've always put a 1. 5 amp automatic charger on each battery. I was just wondering being that both batteries are connected do I really need both chargers or could I just hook to one battery?

I use only one trickle charger. Assuming the batteries are in good shape and fully charged from driving when parked one charger should keep the two batteries up indefinitely.

I found out drivers side wasnt charging because of some crust under the post or around the connection. Live and learn. It wasnt getting a charge from passingger side batt and just kept getting weaker. Temp dropped and then it let me know it was down. I had noticed it seemed to not spin over as fast. Glad I cought it before it fried the starter. Those starters go fast with a low charge start.
