Received the previously discussed mod and found that it eliminated my off the line lag in throttle response. That alone made it worth the money and might have prevented a future accident of me getting T-boned. The throttle response is much better to about one third of the way down the pedal travel but tails off rather quickly after that. In sixth or even lower gears, gradual input gives me quick acceleration like you would expect. Unfortunately, I still have the dead pedal problem when passing. It is not quite as bad and if I ramp up by first downshifting into fifth, the response is much better than before. In short, it was worth the money but did not completely solve the problem. The improvement is in that first one third of pedal travel. Really jumps off the line now.
My thoughts are that the dead pedal might not have to do with that first range of travel. I still believe it might be related to a transmission kick down problem. Now, on climbing slight hills, it kicks down into fifth a little faster. So that might blow my theory out the window. Where I had a 4 second delay before I now have a 3 second delay getting full power and the kick down. If I drop to fifth anticipating passing another vehicle, it is about a 1-2 second delay.
Better but not solved completely. I think I could live with this but still should not have to. Now to get the steering problem resolved. I had posted the steering does not rebound back out of a turn. Called about getting it checked and was advised to go to an alignment shop since I am past the 12 months warranty on alignment. I think it's in the steering box. No drift or unusual tire wear showing. I will try another dealer I guess. Hard to find a good one and one that does not have an attitude when someone comes in armed with a little bit of knowledge.
