 Has anyone experienced dents forming above rear wheels from inside to outside? Both my rear fenders are doing this in the forward top of wheel opening. The paint on these areas is cracking. This first happened on the passenger side but has now developed the same type of bulge on the drivers side. Any one have any Ideas? This is a 2010 3500 single wheel 4x4 Laramie.

You need fender well liners. The dents are from rocks that get stuck in the tread of the tires and thrown out as you go down the road.

This sounds more serious than some friends of mine who have the dents, but they finally figured out that when they were putting their foot on the rear tire(s) to hoist themselves up (to stand on the tires to reach supplies in the box) their knees were putting small dents in the quarter panel above the wheel well. The skins on these newer trucks are thinner than ever.

Sorry, missed the inside out tag line. The above will surely strike a chord with someone who is wondering where the mystery dents are coming from.

The truck does have fender well liners. Came that way as did my 95. The liners are fully attached no missing fasteners.

I have not seen inside out dents in the fenders, but the tailgate dents are caused by letting the tailgate slam open.

I second the thin TIN on the new truck, got hand dent in tailgate from slamming it shut and a good palm size one just below top bed rail above tire opening, don't know how or when for this one. And last but not least roof on a Mega cab will not hold up to a roof applied wax job no matter where or how carefull you are.

Just can't have nice things:)
