Hi. I am looking into replacing the belt tensioner assembly. I have found two different Cummins part numbers for it - p/n 5333499 and p/n 3935819 . I need help picking the correct part. Which is the one I should order? Also what are the steps of replacement? Is thread locker needed on the bolt? Is torque wrench needed to set it?
Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

The 3935819 has been replaced by the 5333499. Either will work.

The 5333499 is considerably cheaper according to my Cummins price tape. Like $50.00 cheaper....

So probably they switched vendors.

While you're in there, give the water pump a wiggle. They don't give notice until they leak or completely fail. IMHO going in from the top, taking out the airbox and alternator provides the most room to work. And yes blue loctite and torquing that bolt would be professional.
