I agree with Joe. I had a 60gal tank in the bed of a 91 Ford 350 powerchoke and I forgot to turn the switch off 3 times. Embarrassing and it sure pisses off the people who are behind you. I now have a 100 gal transfer flow in my 96 and never have to worry about forgetting to turn off the switch. :p

Build your own!!

Thats what I'm going to do. I found a heavy CAT dozer tank in the dumpster. It sat on the ground and got a big mouse nest in it. (The filler hole is about 6" around) But it fits exactly in the bed width wise and goes up about an inch over the rear window and tapers toward the rear like a wedge.

I am going to cut a big piece out of the top, send it out for strip and derust, and replace the top andput in dual filler openings. Can't wait to get started on it!

Oh, if you want to make nice hoses or lines for anything. I use aeroquip braided stainless with the anodized AN fittings. Very strong and looks great too. Very easy to make custom hoses this way, no special tools needed and the hose ends are replaceable.

very happy with Transfer Flow; a true "turn key" system, and worth the $. the computerized transfer system (TRAX-UFS) is great - just fill it and forget it.

I order mine on line from Summit Racing. I have also purchased from P. A. W (Performance Automotive Warehouse) in CA. You might want to request a catalog the first time so you can understand the way they size stuff and what's needed.

Looked at a lot of alloy tanks before deciding to have a steel tank built. 50 gallon tank cost to build was $285. and $100 to have it powder coated.

Some alloy tanks are having problems with baffles cracking and causing a leak. Baffles don't hold up well if they are not welded in good. Good baffle welding tends to warp the tank and spoil outside appearance.

Recently saw a heavy duty toolbox/tank that was built in Canada.

35 gal tank if I remember correctly, with a decent size box on the top. The filler was inside the lid for security. Wish I had wrote the name down, maybe a Canadian on this forum will know the brand. :) :)

When I bought my 60 gal. combination fuel tank/tool box from Northern Tool, it was auto freighted by truck to my home.
