Well I am planning on buying a 12 valve this spring and am starting an upgrade list. I am planning on getting the Sled Puller 66 turbo. Wondering what exhaust housing I should go with 12 or 14? Also what would be the best injectors for this turbo for the best price? I am wanting a decent amount of power. I like the price on the Marine 370s, but if they aren't going to be enough, I don't want to buy those and then want something else right away. I also wouldn't mind some smoke sometimes. :) Let me know what you guys think for injectors and where to buy them and a price. Also about what kind of power figures are we talking with this combo? Thanks a lot guys.

Brenton

The 370s would be enough, depending on what else you are going to do with the fuel system. Other options are injectors from dynomite diesel. They have a stage 2 and 3 injector. The stage 3 is 125hp and the stage 2 is 100hp, I believe.

"Decent amount of power" to me means that you could maybe get away with a 64/14. This is all really to vauge to pinpoint anything.

Figure out an approximate hp number, decide what you are going to do with the truck (tow, daily driver, sledpull, drag race, etc), then call places like piers, htt, II, etc. and ask them. They will know what their products are capable of and what works and what doesn't.

It will also depend on what 12v you get. There are different pumps, injectors, transmissions, etc. to consider when compiling an BOMB list.

I am looking for 500-600hp. I am going to get a manual transmission. I also will be doing fire rings/head gasket, head studs, SB clutch, 4k gov springs, 60lb valve springs, fuel plate, guages, exhaust/exhaust manifold, and intake. Sorry I was vague at first. I hope this list will help. Thanks.

Stage 4's are good for approx 60HP over the 370's and unlike the 370's there is no haze at idle. This is my exsperience.

I have a set of Dynomite Diesel Stage 4s sitting at home on top of my refrigerator. . Can't wait to put them in along with my SLED PULLER 66!

I've got a set of DDP Stages 4's I put in. I can still peg the pyro with ease at 42lbs of boost. .

But, I have laser cut delivery valves.

Very good combo IMHO.

Your are 5x14 right..... correct me if I'm mistaken? A definite step up from 370's in every way. The dragon flows mentioned are 5x18, the same ones I run.

Our Stage 4's do measure around 14 on the outside, but when you Extrude Hone a nozzle you get a cone shaped hole. Basically the hole is bigger on the inside of the nozzle than on the outside. Doing that speeds the fuel velocity, and promotes atomization.

We have first hand knowledge that a set of 5X18's will create maybe 20 more hp, but will add a bunch of EGT. We saw 2000+ degrees with an S400/ HX-40 Combo. Our comparison was done last year with a set of our older Stage 4’s that were honed by an outside source. Since our new hone is much more powerful, we build our current stage 4’s a bit larger, so that 20hp gap is most likely gone now.

We are in the process of a motor rebuild that was caused by excessive heat from a set of 5x18's. The exhaust manifold, and the head were cracked in many different places, and coolant entered one cylinder, leading to a piston that cracked in half.

Our Stage 4's are capable of very high horsepower, and can be a daily driver. A set of edm'd 5x18's would be a challenge to drive. Brad Morse, Scott Vorhees (Big Bad Dodge), and Richard Madsen (Maddog), will all tell you that our injectors will make big power. If you have to have something that will crack your head, and exhaust manifold, to get that extra drop of HP we can hone a set of 5x18's to promote atomization but for most, our off the shelf Stage 4's will do the trick. We will only sell sets like this, with a customer signed disclaimer.

If you have access to a good reliable dyno, and would like to do a comparison, you may consider purchasing a set, to do a back to back HP, and EGT comparison. As always we offer a 30 day no questions asked guarantee on our products. I hope this helps clarify some questions about our stuff. If you have any further questions, and would like to talk Lenny or myself, do not hesitate to call.

Thanks Much

That is a good write up Ross.

I personally don't have issues with mine but there not for everyone. Most of it comes down to being able to tune the pump, that I have perfected to an extent for daily driving. I chuckle at people that run no plate or AFC and think there going to make max power.

As for me I wouldn't buy a set just to try, doesn't seem fair to those that take care of me and that were willing to work with me when no one else would... ... long story from 2 years ago.

Without sounding like a big head I've already proven my point on HP.
