Howdy.
What is the recommended method for flushing the power steering system? The factory installed ATF is pretty dark and gross, and ready to be flushed out.

For my 2002 F350 7.3 there was a method where you could continuously add new fluid to the reservoir while having your wife sit in the truck and turn the steering wheel from side to side while simultaneously pushing on the brake pedal. You'd remove the fluid return line to the PS reservoir and attach a clear hose over the fender and into a bucket on the ground. You could watch the color of the fluid in the clear hose and when it was coming out clean you knew you had all the old fluid out of the steering and hydro-boost components. It worked great.

Is there a similar method somebody has figured out on 3rd Gen Rams? Did a search and didn't find much

Thanks

I did a drain and refill about 50k ago. Disconnect the cooler lines at the cooler below the radiator. Drain, refill with ATF+4. I had no cavitation issues. I felt it was simple and effective.

on my previous truck (a chebby) I accomplished this by blowing a hole in the return line... pretty much completely dumped out the fluid by the time I got off the road!
