I have a 99 with a fass system on it and the fass pumps feeds right into the injection pump where is the best place to place the fuel pressure guage so it has the most accurate reading. I am getting an electronic fuel pressure guage ordered it today.

You want to install it about a foot away from the injection pump. Tee into the line with a fitting that has an 1/8" NPT fitting (Home Depot has them for air compressor lines) to plumb in your sender unit.

I was thinking I saw a kit in Genos that take the pressure right at the VP... . wouldn't that be the best place?

You can't with a FASS. It bypasses the entire stock fuel line including the banjo bolt on the VP with the Genos kit hooks into. Unless they've come out with something else lately. The fitting I used was only about $3 anyway.

From Genos:"The Schrader adapter is used on 00-02 trucks where the Schrader valve is located on the side of the VP-44 injection pump. " Now that I look closer at this thread the original post is about a 99, so that wouldn't work any way. How ever I would like to know your suggestion for my 02? Would this be a good option for me, or go with the T style fitting as others suggest. I have been told FASS will replace every thing up to my VP by some, and others tell me I have to run it through my stock fuel filter?????

Opoole, From your picture it looks like you are running the pressure port between the stock filter and VP44?

This is what I did on my 02 last week, works great. Looks just like Opoole's picture also, but with a FASS.

I installed the JIC "T" fitting onto the VP44 and the supply line which in the case of my AirDog is 1/2" line. I was at first concerned about vibration on that much weight on the fitting that screws into the pump but after 2 years and 140,000 miles I no longer even think about it.

Godspeed,
Trent
