When I was looking for My Subaru Outback. Heuberger Motors was the forum dealer that was giving the best prices to forum members. I had to fly to Colorado to pick it up but The savings was well worth it..

Do we have a Dodge dealer doing that for us?

I will have to order my truck no matter where I go because no one stocks a 3/4 ton Ram with a Manual transmission..

I have nothing to add other than I'm just weirded out by the fact that you can order a vehicle "online"..... Does the UPS driver bring it to you too? :-laf

The first ones that come to mind is Dave Smith motors in Kellog, ID and Dennis Dillon in Boise, ID I am sure that there are others.

I'll second that. My friend in Reno got quotes from both and ended up with a truck from Dillon. Apparently Smith wasn't as responsive to him but the main thing was the deal was better at Dillon. GW

Google Indytruckchampion. He use to be active here. He's a very knowledgeable salesman and a lot of folks have purchased through him.

Dave Smith is the largest Dodge/Ram dealer in the country as well as a GMC dealer... I've personally purchased 6 trucks from them over the years... my good buddy wanted a Chev... he's in Reno and I finally convinced him to contact Dave Smith.... they saved him $9K over his best deal on a Chev and he ended up with a GMC with more features on it.... and for a fee... I think his was $750. Dave Smith put his truck on a Semi with 7 other trucks and personally delivered the truck to his door... where the driver personally went over the truck and answered all his questions... He ended up one Happy Camper... since he saved 9K I asked for 10% of his savings for getting him to contact Dave Smith.... he just laughed... but he's still very happy....

I also used a great guy at Dishman who would match a Dave Smith deal on a ORDERED truck... but hes gone... and I don't know if they are still matching deals...

I know several of our former customers tried to get matched deals in their home towns but found none of those dealers would come close...

I used to sell Dave Smith PacBrakes for their accessory shop... and was told that they would sell $1000 below invoice on ordered units... and would make the money on what is called the hold backs and rebates they get for high volume... often moving 800 trucks a month...

They are very nice to deal with.... NO pressure.... they have a whole room full of internet sales people who work with GMC, Cadillac, Dodge, Ram, Jeep... etc... their sales crew used to specialize in a brand/model so your working with a pro all the time...

Just my thoughts... give them a try..

Rumor has it that Dave Smith Auto was sold and deals are no longer as good. Dennis Dillion is better. I would get a quote from Dillion and shop it locally here in the valley. You might also get quote via Costco. SNOKING

I can't speak for everyone ,Dave Smith has never come close to selling Me anything, they are always $1-2K more then our selling local dealer W/O the hassle, if you cannot make a local deal a just don't know what to say.

I just purchase this Jeep and Dave Smith was $1,600 more...

I dialed in my specs for the truck I wanted and then I went shopping. I priced the truck at the local dealer the big dealer and other dealers east of me. I ended up ordering through Dennis Dillon. Just be heads up they will include the rebates in the price and you may not qualify for all the rebates. It saved me plenty going through Dennis Dillon. They start with internet/phone saleperson and they will give you a salesperson when your truck gets close.

I just picked up my new one from Dave Smith last month. No one in town even came remotely close to their deal well unless I wanted hail damage. However in the past on previous trucks locals were close enough or better so I guess it depends on the day and what you are looking for. I also looked at Dennis Dillon but Dave Smith beat them as well at least this time. I will Say Dave Smith did have a good operation going. They picked me up at the airport drove me the hour to their location, went over the truck pretty well, There was no pressure during the process from beginning to end.

He's still active on forum b. Apparently, 2016 was a record year in Ram sales for his business. Lot's of happy customers.

I've always known DS to be super competitive with Dodge/Ram pickups but not other Chrysler vehicles. I searched the entire state of Ca for almost a year before buying from DS. The minute I mentioned DS towards the end of a deal, the Ca dealer more or less told me to hit the door.

I was referred to DS by a local Dodge salesgal as there were no manual trans in Southern California.
I did everything over the phone and computer. DS gave me invoice-holdback-rebates-farm Bureau.
This was in October of '06 and lots of incentives were out there.
They arranged delivery to myself and another buyer 30 miles away. Things couldn't have been smoother.
OP,I'd seriously consider an Aisin auto if you don't have to have a manual. Upgrading to a stronger, single mass flywheel is going to yield gear rollover noise on your nice quiet truck.

Two things.
1. Upgrading to the Aisin auto would require going to a One ton and I really don't need a one ton.
2. I really don't want an Automatic, I want something that I have to row.

I'm not sure which trim level you are interested in, but a quick look at Dillon's website showed lots of manual 2500s in the Tradesman trim and only one in Laramie. They do state on their website that they use the same pricing on special orders so maybe that's an option if you want a higher trimmed truck with a manual trans.

When I bought my '16 last spring, I shopped both Dillion and Smith in Idaho along with several local dealers. Smith was the 2nd highest. Dillion was $4,000 less than the next best deal. I too had heard smith was bought out and they no longer offer the deals of yesteryear. In my experience that appeared to be the case.

Interesting info on DSM. When I bought my '15 it was the best deal. This past year my buddy bought a Ram 1500, and a somewhat local dealer blew DSM out of the water by about $1800. Now it makes sense.

Just drove down from Dave Smith with new 2017 Ram 6.7 and got a better price than any of the above mentioned dealers. I didnt hear that they were sold.
