Hint: His text:

"I am interested in a used 1-ton Dodge 4x4 with 24 valve engine to plow snow. Is there a particular year that is stronger, or known to have fewer problems? Thanks. Jerry Henry"

Takes more than the engine to plow snow!

:-{} Semantics comes to mind. And maybe not having the CAD would be best for plowing snow.

But overall, I still stand by my contension that the 2001. 5 is best of breed.

2 votes for the 2001. 5. 71k, original vp, but on 5th lifty pump (who needs those anyways). We buried my brother's jeep in a lake, my truck was able to turn around and pull him out with no problem. Okay, that was just a shameless plug for the off road capabilities.

Mine is a early '02 with CAD, no rear wheel wells, passenger side grab handle, no hood liner. One problem in 3 years and 30K miles was ball joints at 28K.

Another vote for 01. 5,no problems yet,but i don't drive it much(16000miles to-date),still in the building/bombing stages, does it ever end  . Just ordered the Smarty and some Mach 4's to try from Bob today(he even gave me the option to send the sticks back if there too hot for my set-up towing, probable just run with the sticks and the Smarty on the lowest setting when weighted down,if not try, live and learn. :-laf :-laf :-laf . )
