I'm interested in making a billet fuel filter cap for my '03. I still have access to the '99 I sold to scope it out too.

Billet aluminum/anodized/"O" ringed/NPT ported fuel filter cap.

As with the oil filter socket, I need at least a 50-60 piece run so I can price the parts affordable.

PM me, email me at -- email address removed -- or call me at 740-474-2593 with ideas or suggestions of what you'd like to see!!

JHardwick,

You are da man. Soon my truck will be all billet! Should be seeing the oil filter socket soon. I'm in for this too. Yellow anodized (to indicate DIESEL) would be sweet and have "DIESEL FUEL ONLY" engraved like you did on the sockets. \

NPT ported? For what?

What about using some purty shiny stainless? That would be sooo nice. Is it THAT much more expensive?

Wasn't there another guy a while back selling the same thing (don't know about 3rd Gen) in the classifieds? Thought his price was around $60-$65 dollars.

Might do a search and see what happened, then you could judge the market posibilities with more info.

Yes, and he was local to my group, although I don't rmember his name (100 + members makes it tough:rolleyes: ). I can and will find out who he is, although I've not seen him nor the ad in some time. I would be interested, price dependent. The other guy was selling them for $55.

Dkevdog,

I'd appreciate if you could find out what happened to that deal. I'd like to do the 2nd and 3rd gen. They would look good and profide a convenient means of monitoring fuel pressure.

Thanks

Count me in!

Anodized Red with "DIESEL FUEL ONLY" or "5. 9L Cummins" or "REAL TRUCKS USE DIESEL FUEL" :D engraved on the top

Ohhhh. Fuel FILTER cap, I was thinking Fuel cap, as in the one you remove to put diesel in. :D

I guess I haven't looked at it that closely, although I did change the filter once. So this would replace the part that holds the fuel filter? Can the NPT port be made such to allow pressure monitoring post filer? That would be more useful I think.

JHardwick,

I have one of the billet fuel filter cap for my truck. I bought it off Ebay before the guy sold them in the classifieds. I don't know if he was or is a TDR member. I think mine cost $55. I have not installed it yet, but made a special socket so as not to damage the top. I did show it to Dkevdog and he may be thinking that I made it. I believe the guy was somewhere back east.

Do you need a sample to make some from? Let me know. My is anodized black.

Jeff- Cary might be right... ... . my memory doesn't serve me well (not that it ever did:rolleyes: ).

Cary, I thought that the guy that was making them was a friend of Mark Wendlandt's? I thought he was out in the Redlands/Riverside area? Am I smoking crack again??

Kev,

I went back though my receipts and the guy's name is Lonnie Turner from Calimesa, CA. Where is that? Somewhere in San Bernardino, Ca I think. It was not back east, and if you're smoking, I hope it's diesel. :D

I did a search on Calimesa and found member user name CNCMAC. A machinist, but he has been banned.

Cap, Calimesa is on the I-10 freeway, about 25 miles this side of Palm Springs, just a wide spot in the road.
