Received a PM from Lonnie- the originator of the billet filter cap.

Hi Kev, Yes I'm still making them - I've just been very busy. Take a look at the Classifieds, Product Promotions, Basement Enterprises. I am the machinist of the original fuel filter cap.

They are available in the classifieds:

Just thought everyone should know.

They are sawed up and standing in line waiting on the lathe. I got a little busier than I expected. Dan Patrick of the "Samson" truck pre-paid to get his parts expedited, LOL, and a couple of my industrial accounts picked up a little ... ... ... ... ..... gonna have to re-hire some of my layed off help if things keep up Oo.

These fuel filter caps will fit the 3rd generations trucks but not the 12 valvers. Jeff said he would run some for us 12valvers if he gets enough interest. ANYBODY. Oo. Oo. else interested besides me. Oo. Oo.

The 12 valves don't use a cap,and the 24v's didn't either till 01,are you talking about an entire filter housing?

Bob

I am not sure what you are talking about but if JHardwick makes it and it will fit a 95' 12 valve put me down for one. After the filter wrench I am in the mood for another Hardwick work of art. Fine workmanship plus function = great value.

CTait, I'll explain what he is talking about... ... The 12 valves have a spin on fuel filter, similar to an oil filter.

The newer trucks 01'-thru 04' have a plastic fuel cannister with a slide in filter element inside the cannister, the top of the cannister is made of plastic. Mr. Hardwick is making an aluminum top to replace the plastic top of this cannister. So since the 12 valve trucks don't have this cannister, I'm not sure what you are looking for.

12-valves from '97-'98. 4 had a cartridge style filter with a plastic cover... not a cannister.

'94-'96 uses the FS1253

'97-'98. 4 uses the FS19522

dodgeram.org has the all the info...

Holeshot, maybe you ought to take another look,I believe you will find that the filter will drop out the bottom with a metal can no plastic lid;)

Bob

Hrmmm... . maybe I ought to have my eyes checked... .

I've honestly never changed the filter on the newer style housings...

I like my crow well done. Thanks. :-laf

Elite1, You're right. I just checked my 95. It is a spin on cannister. Honestly, I have never changed mine. I have had the shop do that. I am going to start doing my own though. It looks like its a real #$@%$# to do where its located though. I would sure like to relocate it. I wonder if its possible to adapt the newer ones. Anyone think its worth trying.
