Not happy. Making all of 403 rwhp and 918 torque on the dyno Saturday. Thought the intercooler started leaking again, but it was still good, I guess the JB Weld held, who would have thought.
Playing around Monday morning and BOOM, good thing I was only 1 mile from the house.
Turbo is suppose to be good for 500 rwhp. I should have limited the boost to 40 like Keith told me to, but I didn't think 45 with spikes up to 47 psi would kill it, my bad. My buddy's 2001 goat with the stock HX40 made 548 rwhp on the dyno with a shot of spray
and stays together fine.
Not sure what to do now. I leaning toward just getting a HX40 for now and doing twins later. But then I think of a Bell turbo and a big shot of spray would make me happy too. The head gasket needs to be done before the twins or the spray, I want to wait as long as I can and just get the PDR stage 2 head when I do the gasket.
Think there was something wrong with the Diesel Dynamics Jammer turbo from the start, never heard a turbo that loud in my life, thought it was normal, now I'm not so sure. Whatever, to late now.
