Blower motor

I noticed a few days ago that my fan blower motor started to run about 5-10 seconds after the engine was shut down and with the key out of the ingnition. And the blower kept running unitl I turned off the speed control to the off position. This has never happened b4. Any ideas?

It is a short in the large wire harness on the steering column. If you use your tilt steering allot the large plug works loose. Mine caught fire and the dash burned. If your under warranty take it back to the dealer and they will rewire it. If your out of warranty take the cover off around the steering unplug the large wire harness and make sure the pins are not burned to bad. Clean them with a wire brush, plug it back in and place a ziptie around the harness to keep it from coming loose. My blower did the same thing. After a while I would smell a burning wire smell every now and then. The dealer never found a problem and my dash caught fire one day when I was driving down the road. (see post). I had a nice settlement with D. C after it was all said and done.
