after my truck runs for about 10 the ecm fuse blows and the truck shuts off going down the road, then i end up just zip tying my fuel solenoid and driving home. what could be causing my ecm fuse to blow, any help would be appreciated

thanks

Ken

No ECM in 12 valve trucks are you blowing a fuse to the PCM?

If it is the PCM it has nothing to do with running the engine ( your engine will run if PCM is working or not).

Any thing else happening before engine shuts down?

First thing to check would be any and all wires coming from/to the PCM. Very possible you have a wire that has rubbed thru the insulation. hopefully its a 12v supply wire to the PCM instead of a sensor or output from the PCM. A bad ground shouldnt blow fuses, but who knows. .

good luck

Is it a fuse in the PDC (power distribution center= in egine compartment) or the fuse box inside the truck?

Because the PCM has nothing to do with the Fuel shut off solenoid (At least what I have read in the 96 factory sevice manual). The hold up coil is powered by the igniton switch.

I doubt that they would put the PCM and the ignition switch on the same fuse. (I will try to check out what fuses run what. )

it is the fuse in the dash called engine which i assume is pcm cause i lose tach and alternator when it blows which are both controlled by the pcm
