I did a search and not sure if I typed in the correct "search" words or what. My dad just picked up a 2012 Ram with the factory power heated external mirrors. I friend of mine gave me a set of 2012 factory tow mirrors. Heated, powered, puddle lamp and turn signal. I removed dad's old mirrors and plugged in the new one's. Power works and heat function works great. No puddle lamp or turn signal. I removed mirror and installed on my 2012 dually which has factory tow mirrors and the puddle lights/turn signals work. Can the dealer flash the Body Control Module to tell the truck it has factory tow mirrors so everything works? When I called the dealer, they said they were not sure. My local dealer mostly deals with Jeeps, cars and 1500 series trucks not 2500, 3500 or diesels for that matter. Does anyone know if it can be done? Appricate any help or in site.

I think a savvy tech can do it. If it was an option for that year/model truck.

The option code has to be entered into the fca data base ,then the bcm is reconfigured.Dealer only for access to perform this
