Well I am actually posting for my buddy w/ 2000 2wd DC. He is going to get a Suncoast converter pretty soon, but we need to know to what order yall think he should start bombing. His goals for now is 450hp before he really goes crazy w/ o-ringing and all. The parts we are going to get are a Drag Comp, HX-40, and some crazy injectors. We are going w/ the HX40 because we can blow up four of them for the price of one B1. Plus my 40 and all my friends are doing very well. The injectors we are going w/ will be custom made and will be around $700. Other injectors have insane price tags and will not be considered. Since they are custom made what hp would yall go w/? Streetable is good but lots of smoke is wonderful! What order would yall bomb in? Comp first then hx40 then injectors? Would just the comp smoke any? Any other comments?

The absolute first thing to "Bomb" is a set of guages;) Do your self a favor and get the guages first so you can establish a base line for the truck. Then as you add things or make changes, you will be able to verify your expected outcome. If you bomb without guages and go overboard, you might be hurting things without knowing it. Guages first, then power up;)

450hp shouldn't require anything "crazy". A Comp, HX-40 and a set of very streetable Stage 3's should put him at or above the level he is looking for. Obviously, the standard items will also need to be there (4"+ exhaust, gauges, bigger fuel lines, pusher pump, air box and trans mods).

A HX-40 size or even our Jammer turbo will support that HP quite well.

As for order, do the stuff that doesn't affect driveability first - gauges, exhaust, airbox, fuel lines and pusher pump kit. Then add some power with the box, and do the turbo and injectors last, as they will need to be done together.

Just cross your fingers that while your blowing up your 4 HX40's, all the parts exit out the exhaust side, vs bits of the compressor making its way into the intake. Its not fun cleaning out the intercooler either. Just something to think about. And I am assuming your refering to stock HX40 since you can purchase 4 of them for $1500. Isn't there like 20 something different HX40's available?

Well I am just saying down here in GA all my friends run hx40s w/ exceptional luck. We wastegate ours at 40... . well not on my twins but thats different. The 40s are just a great value. I have one friend that pull 30,000 lbs frequently w/ a two year old turbo, and I bark my turbo all the time because it sounds cool and never have any trouble. And I NEVER let turn the truck off to wait for 300 EGTs. Screw that I don't have time to sit in a parking lot for 5 minutes. As long as their around 400-450 when I remember to even look at them. For him, a college kid it is just not worth the extra money. I didn't have gauges till I had dynoed over 400hp. He NEVER pulls anything so I don't really see a need for them if he is not just a moron he will be alright. I guess it sounds like the chip and then turbo and injectors together. What hp injectors would max out the hx-40?
