Gps Question

Does anyone have any hot recommendations for a set of high quality bookshelf speakers? I just got my first house, and need some suggestions of what to put in. These will be used for both music and home theatre. I have a Paradigm PDR-12 sub already that I plan to use, so the bass end of things is pretty well covered. My old floor speakers are too big to use in the front of the room and I'm not sure what to do. I would like to keep the price under $400-$500.

Klipsch

I have had a few pairs and subs from Klipsch, and just love 'em. Very crisp highs and robust bass. High quality with concert hall reproduction. Their goal is to make your music sound "live" . I even have a pair for the deck (all weather) and they really sound great. I'd give 'em a listening to. Bruce

Monitor Audio. They won in a double blind listening comparison conducted by Sound and Vision magazine of many bookshelf speakers. The listening judges comprised of a bunch of audiophiles. There were also techs measuring freq response, sensitivity, etc. I bought a pair and I'm quite happy with them. They are very well made, but pricey. I think I spent over $300 for a pair about 6 years ago. A quick look online shows thhey are going for over $400 now.

i've been very happy with my B&W 600 series speakers. . i had some 601's before that sounded very good. i sold them and got some 602's. . again sounded good, then i sold them and went to 604 s2's [i wanted floor standing ones]. . i later traded them in on some 604 s3's. . those are what i have now. .

paradigm makes some nice small bookshelf speakers too. . i probably would have went with them first, but the store i worked at PT was a b&w retailer so i got a big discount there.
