I didn't search much, so apologies in advance if I've missed a great thread. Anyone tried both of these? Suggestions? I HATE the way my 05 steers like an old Ford. No lift, but I do have 20" wheels and 34" tires.

I know the new Mopar unit is heavy duty, but I've also read it is made in China, unlike the Borgeson. I just want steering that doesn't wander anymore!

Thanks.

Let's get something straight. Borgeson doesn't make the box. They adapt a GM box to our trucks. Are you sure you know where GM boxes are built?

I was just trying to show Borgeson doesn't build the original box. Delphi does. Last I knew Delphi was a subsidiary of GM. That's why they say it's modified to fit. Hope I gave some pertinent info.

The Borgeson will solve that problem. For how long depends on who you talk to. Mine still won't turn the wheels at an idle but that might be a weak PS pump also. It did solve the porlbme of slack in the steering and not able to take it out anymore.

I got the new MOPAR Box and I'm very satisfied with it, really tight and no wander anymore.

And it is a Dealer Part, if I get Problems with It I can still order OEM Parts wherever I'm on this Planet.

Good to hear responses from both camps. I was all set for the new Mopar unit and then ran across some articles that said the Borgeson may end up being better. Seems to me the Borgeson may be cheaper, too. Still up in the air.

I was headed down a 5% decline last weekend and the constant turn the wheel left until you turn it right until you turn it left game was getting very old. I've got less than 110,000 on my truck, too.

At 80K miles I had much wandering, leaky box and stalling steering at idle. Previously at 25K miles I had stalling steering at idle and the dealer did a box and pump under warranty. Not wanting to do another short term fix I went the full new style box, pump and updated to the latest steering linkage. Couldn't be happier, steers better than new, no hint of idle stalling and less effected by road conditions. My main travel road is a asphalt repaved, widened concrete road that always has a fallen shoulder with the seam just inside the white line... a real handful with the old setup. Barely noticeable with the new style components.... one note, my old components did not show any signs of significant wear outside of steering gear leaking. Multiple shops and I checked for any worn components and all seemed tight as new.. along with multiple alignments not identifying bad components.
