I need info on taking apart the breakover spring it looks easy but I dont want something to jump out at me that I'm not ready for, know what I mean? Plus whare can I find all the parts besids the dealership at about a $120 I'll even take some good used partsif anyone has some? To fix this before it breaks will make home life much easier around here . All help is greatly appreciated.

I am going to send 2 ve pumps (as soon as I figure out how to send them ) to Jlast If he is not going to put them in service maby you can have one of those springs.

The Breakover spring is Bosch part # 1464651430. It runs about $13. I got mine from Wentland Diesel . They shipped it out the same day I ordered it.

The throttle linkage is available from Cummins. Cummins part# 4089076. This includes the rod, the 2 nuts, 2 steel ends and the new ball that the one snaps on. Price was $21. 82. This is the post that I sent Monty a couple months ago when I bought this. You could also check on the part from

Reliable Goods . They do have a handling charge but if you don't have a Cummins shop near you, this could help.

The breakover spring is a piece of cake to replace. 8mm allen screw after you have removed the TPS bracket. Unscrew the allen screw that is obvious. Use a pair of longnose pliers to replace the spring. It only takes about 15 minutes. Just make sure you get it setting in it's groove on the throttle bar (you'll see when you get it apart).

[The throttle linkage is available from Cummins. Cummins part# 4089076. ] I recently posted this Cummins pn, and the Mopar pn same price near $21. Run a search for throttle actuation rod or throttle rod if you need the mopar pn. A much nicer rod and metal end caps over the plastic caps. Bill

Edit, BTW guys that havent upgraded or lets say 'updated' their throttle actuation rod to the metal cap style, only $21, it can leave you stranded if you dont have some bailing wire or string in the truck when if yours breaks. Don't wait for it to break.

Hey guys thanks I knew I could depend ou all for the right aqnswers. Anyone have any ideas about where to get the throttle cable itself besides Dodge? Thanks again boys.

Well after closer inspection I have found the small plate/lever that the break over spring operates is bent and I can make out small cracks in the bends. I would like to replace this while Im at it. Can any body tell me the part #? The guy at cummins told me that I would need to bring it in to replace the spring and bracket because the are preset and I wouldn't be able to change them my self?

Like... ... ... ... . don't believe everything you hear. Bob said it best. Check out the info on R&R injection pump gov spring. There are also persons here who are willing to help you out on the phone as well.
