Damn Brother looks like a AFSC 43131C did that screw job!! I went to the doctor before we went to Europe he asked if I wanted to look at my Hip Replacements X Ray? I told him that ill take his word for how their doing. Its amazing what the body can endure and the technology thats available today, I suppose I don't have to tell you that its all about rehab Brother. Being in the Air Force we had no fancy sayings like Whoop or Ooraw so KICK XXX and tuff out the pain!! Don't let it beat you

YEP, I hear ya. I spent 8 years with the Army stationed at Pope AFB, NC. Took a long time to get the HUA out of me. Even now, I'll throw one out there. A friend if mine was an Army First Sergeant who was taking me to different friends of his for drinks. Went to one place, and a guy said "Earl, what the hell you bringing AF around here?" I had not practiced or thought of this before, but out of the clear blue, I said " You should be thankful for the AF... without us you'd be jumping out of the back of trucks instead of airplanes!" Must've been a good answer... I became part of the pack.

Cheers, Ron

A friend of my Son was home on leave from the Army when we lived in Calif. He asked me what the War Cry was in the Air Force? I told him I can't really remember having one but my Personal thought as the illumination flares lit up the playing field and got our first glimpse of what was coming our way was. I MUST HAVE BEEN FRIGGING INSANE TO VOLUNTEER FOR THIS XXXX

Never could understand the mind set of jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft, if its going into the ground OK ill push my way to the front of the exit line but to jump on your own AHHHHHHHH I DONT THINK SO

These Airborne guys lie for the jump.... in fact the had a jump club and told me I could jump the first time for free. I appreciated the gesture, but told them to only wayi was jumping out an airplane is if it was on fire and the pilot jumped first. They were ok with me being a "leg" and so was I.

They were a great bunch of guys and when you were their friend, they treated you as one of them.

Cheers, Ron

Was it anything like, "Keep the beer on ice, we'll be back in an hour!" ??

I never understood why anyone would leave perfectly safe ground in the first place. But I did jump once. Static, 3500 feet. With a little tension on the risers, the silence was wonderful; too bad I couldn't've stayed up a lot longer. Never got around to going again; I should some day.

Flying has always been Fantastic I don't care for the endless over the ocean views but when you travel its part of it.
We did get a Military supplied Beer drop VERY FREQUENTLY living on or near the equator getting drunk on beer was next to impossible. Funny when we invited the other branches to join in on our BBQ's they said WARM BEER???? no thanks. Shows the ingenuity of us Air Force guys that had access to liquid Oxygen that has a boiling point of somewhere around 350* BELOW 0, rain water in a 55 gal drum INSTANT ICE.

Funniest thing brought up at a recent reunion was the first time we were over-run by the other side. Was in a hole holding on to an M60 like it was my girlfriend in the backseat of my chevy just a few months earlier. When the shooting started at 19 I didn't know if it was ok to shoot back. A Marine Sargent asked me what the F are waiting for a written invation you F ing AH? (Had a way with words)

Co worker- NOT a military guy, very far from it, but he jumps as a hobby. He just got certified to inspect parachutes, teach packing, etc. it’s a serious hobby. He shares his go pro videos with us.

Friends,

I thought it would be nice to close this out on a high note: I had checkup with my surgeon Monday 10 Feb and it's all healed and I complete physical therapy Thursday. Thanks for all the support and friendship....It sure helped all those months I was laid up.

Best Cheers, Ron
