VW Farfrompuken maybe
Near world record pace, old ALT out by 10AM and new warranty reman in and AC compressor in by 11:30ish. Ron your idea of pulling the engine back that was a great idea. Still snug but wow what a difference. The gerbil is in the recovery room, resting. New tensioner and serp belt arrive this afternoon.
This view is from DS looking up and in, alt is hiding above AC comp, it's a bit shy doesn't like its pic taken. Came with a test chart but i asked them to test again, no need to do this one over. What am I saying! This was last august for install. Yes, I've already been in contact w/vendor tech line earlier this week.
And if anyone ever works on these with the snug fit sliding sleeve nut that they use on ALT and AC, take a moment and use a bolt maybe and pull the sliding sleeve back a little saves several bandaids and then they pull back into place with tightening.
The old unit was charging but the clutch pulley was to borrow a phrase Charlie Foxtrot. It rotated to drive correctly but when you reveres rotate on bench it was raspy turning and then would LOCK UP that's the failure mode and it makes big UGLY noises.
